Good post! This a sad situation and an ongoing story for Greece.

I can't help but think that if the U.S. doesn't jump in with the European Union, and help Greece out of this turmoil.....some nation with 'clandestine' intentions will, like maybe China.

Greece has many good people among her citizens and has been a long-time U.S. ally. She is also one of the original "seats of Democracy". I would hate to see her go down.......

I keep wondering why they say (when the stock market tumbles) "it's Europe debt fears." When our debt fear isnt any better. We owe more money per capita than Greece does. How is our situation better?

Geithner is already pushing for us to jump in and help. This would equate to QE on a worldwide scale, therefore decreasing the value of not only their currencies but ours as well (then again that's the ultimate goal for some). And to answer the question about how is our situation any better than Greece's - it isn't. They're just further down the road of entitlements and pensions destroying their country's economy.

Unfortunately she is going down. Her people simply will not take the responsible cuts and resulting independence from the government dole needed to bail themselves out of their own welfare and wasteful spending induced mess that she is in. Good riddance.

So we would borrow from the Chinks to give to the Greeks?

Bailing Greece out is NOT the answer. the answer for them is that they have to make the tough choices THEMSELVES. They can protest all they want...but it was their lazy/wealth redistribution mentality that created the mess they are in. That mindset has to change. and the ONLY way to get people to change...is when things get MISERABLE enough for them to WANT change.

Socialism is great (for the lazy entitlement mentality types)....until they run out of people to ROB the wealth from to redistribute.

My only comment on this rioting is that when they start tossing fire bombs at the police, the police should be able to reply with equally deadly force.

It is rarely a good idea for a short little line of people to begin attempting to kill the massive angry legions arrayed against them unless the short line wishes to have it's helmets pulled off and skulls bludgeoned with rocks. For simple self preservation, they ought to show restraint in that regard.
