...what is the first thing yall like to change on 1911's?...
The mag. I always swap a full one in for the empty one as required.

The internet is a great place for info. It is also a great place for bad info. Les Baers have a tendency to mess up occasionally in the 1st 500+ because they are stupid tight when delivered. They will even state as much. Never made sense to me but folks love them. I am not a fan. Shot a few. Nice guns. I will do my own.
Bought a 45 Premier 2 years back, had 2 or 3 ftf's in the first 300 rounds and that was it. Used it for my competition gun until my wrists told me they no longer like shooting thousands of 45's per year. When I sold it the blue was largely gone from holster wear but the slide still felt tight as new and the bushing was not coming off for anybody without a wrench, extractor felt loose and probably should have been bent back a tad but everything still worked so I left it as it was.
For xmas I decided I wanted to get back into 1911's so I got a 9mm premier 2 this time. Splurged and got the 1.5" 50 yard guarantee. Maybe 600 ish rounds so far, playing with different recoil springs and mags and ammo to see what I like, not one ftf.
got a pic of that Baer?
Hello. New to this Forum, first post. I have a Sig Sauer 1911 Scorpion Carry as my EDC. I’m very happy with the gun and believe Sig builds a tight, reliable, quality gun. I like the look of the Sig Scorpions and am very happy with how it performs. Would recommend the Sig 1911 without reservation.

James,
I’m with you, they are all good. Everyone’s got a point of view and are entitled to it. At the end of they day, people should buy and use what works for them.

Kimbers pre-Schwartz safety 1911's is a good value and a great place to start as a base gun I believe. This would put them before 2001-02 I believe while Chip had his hands in them. I bought a supposedly "unfired" Kimber Classic Royal made probably around 2000. A beautiful piece.
