What information should I get from the individual?
Oh no...that's fine with me. I probably stole it off here somewhere....so just call me Joe Biden.I took the liberty of converting Publicservant's Bill of Sale into pdf and hosting it here BILL OF SALE. Minor font adjustment made to facilitate one page printing. I hope its ok. Public if you want it off of there just tell me I'll delete it.
As long as it's not signed under duress it should be a legal and binding document...although some will argue it.I think a bill of sale is great for a sellers piece of mind, but would it hold weight in court if it needed to?
If you buy from a gunshop and have to fill out paperwork why is it any different when you meet some stranger you never meet before to do the same. Just because someone has that pink card does not mean anything. What if buy your gun use in in a murder and the cops question you.
"Sir where is your gun registered to you"
"Officer i sold it to someone with a pink card"
"Ok son time to meet Bubba"
Sorry i really dont want to meet Bubba. Better safe than sorry, but to each his own.
Is that what you tell the gun shops too, you will not fill out their bill of sale?
Cant that bill of sale at the gun shop that has the serial number still track you down when they find a casing your gun. Dont the manufactures keep a round from each gun so they can track it to the dealer who then in turn track it to the bill of sale. Maybe im stupid, please correct me.
