    Close up work (50-100 yards) or longer range? Magnification or no?

    I put an Aimpoint Comp9000 on my .458socom for deer this fall.

    If you want variable magnification I'd go with the Bushnell 3200, lots of guys are putting them on the .50bmg.

    I tried a Vortex Strikefire on my .458 but the mounts that came with it allowed it to move too much, and it didn't make sense to spend the dough for some Larue mounts which cost more than the optic.
