I think empty holsters are the way to go. I think bringing airsoft guns is probably going to prompt an immediate call to the campus police which is a scene we want to avoid. We want to be as civil as possible. Signs serve that purpose better than toy guns.

I was thinking about being there between 5-5:30. My wife will be coming with me now so that's another one coming. :D Actually we'll be coming from the state fair. One unarmed event to another... Oh, I don't have any signs, but I will bring my Gadsden Flag.

    Suggestions for parking?

Anyone have any suggestions for parking?

This is one of the problems with being a "real" grassroots movement and not "astroturfers." Folk like me have to get there on our own and find places to park, walk from parking to the event while carrying ones own sign(s).

It's not like the astroturfers who get bussed to the events and have folk to hand out nicely pre-printed signs.

You can either pay to park in the parking garages with is about 2 dollars for one hour and .50 for every next hour or park along the river which is free and walk down.

I concur that you guys should arrive early, that way the attendees can see you guys outside. I think signs will serve you better than flags - we need to persuade people why we are not the enemy. Tell people that you aren't killers, you are defenders of your families. Anyways that's your call, just my 2 cents. Good luck :yesway:

I have used the parking garages a lot by the IU Med center's cancer pavilion. Not very full most of the time. Still will be a few bucks, likely. Do not use the one's nearest the med center entrance, they are packed and I just don't like them.

I have nothing to make signs with, and the only one's I have refer to socialism and "Don't Tread on Me" so my NRA shirt will have to suffice. It says the Second Amendment is America's Original Homeland Security. That's about as close to a sign as I can get.

I'm very dissappointed that this hasn't mobilized more members. I sure hope more people come than those who have posted....

A couple of pieces of poster board from the "school supplies" aisle at any Meijer, Kroger, Target, or the like, some tape or glue, some markers. Stick to make holding it a bit easier optional.

If you want to get really fancy, find some pictures on the 'Net and print them to tape or glue to the signs (got a couple of nice poster images from Oleg Volk's web site and got permission to use them. How did I get permission? Simple: I asked. ;)).

5 to ten bucks tops. Won't be the professional, pre-printed signs the astroturfers use, but will serve to get the message across.

As for parking, I think the parking lots east of the main entrance of IU hospital are open to all on the weekend. Double check before you park there though (it will say on the sign stating which parking stickers are allowed). I'll be on campus today, but working so I won't be able to show up. Good Luck!

I'll be there. Gotta get directions and my wife and I will be heading that way! She's new to all this so what better way to get her involved, right? :D See you all there!

BTW, I expect all 5K+ members to have their butts up, off work, and there at IUPUI to give em hell! :D
