One more here, 1963. I don't really care which generation I supposedly am a member of, but I will say I have always thought it odd that I count as a Baby Boomer when my parents were actually little kids during WWII. Mom was 9 when it ended.

If you remember playing with the Knockers / Clackers two balls on a string toy.

Death on a string if you were anywhere near when one of the balls would explode going at full speed. I think this is what gave the original idea for grenades.

What about those toxic metal tubes of plasticky stuff that you were supposed to be able to blow up into a balloon? They never worked for me.

Oh yeah! Wow, hadn't thought of that stuff in a long time. From the way it smelled, you could probably get a pretty good buzz if you sniffed it too!

Looks like it's still available too!

My wife's ring tone is an excerpt from "Inna-A-Gadda-Da-Vida". She gets some looks when it goes off. When I met her at a rock concert she was wearing hip hugging elephant bottom red jeans.

My grandma, OTOH, was the wife of a tenet farmer in Arkansas, had 13 kids and I can not remember seeing her in anything but a dress or without an apron and a bonnet on.
