I dont buy knives on ebay anymore just because of that. Fakes EVERYWHERE! I go to trusted retailers and always do my research on each knife before I buy.

As long as the price is right and the markings match it is more often than not the real deal. Just make sure the markings are correct if you are not sure ask the seller for a better picture if the knife is legit they will more than likely oblige you. Here are some examples of EBAY fakes.

One of the best knives i bought was a chinese quick assist. Blade was surgical grade steel. Sharp as heck and held the edge. Carried if for years til it met an unfortunate accident involving a brick wall. Cost me only $5 too.
