    Hello,

I'm embarking on my first AR build. I'm looking to build a precision rifle (SPR/DMR?) and these are the parts I've come up with after some youtubing and googling to find what I think would make a fairly decent AR.

I'm looking for feedback on if I've picked a part that's totally ridiculous or I've left something obvious out. Any suggestions you all may have would also be appreciated. As you'll notice from my list, I'm looking to drop a good bit of coin and do this as well as possible. I have a vortex scope that I'll probably toss on this when finished already.

With that complete upper you're gonna have a crap ton of $$$ in your rifle. If you're wanting a dmr rifle then buy a new upper receiver and waltz over to Larue's website and buy a stealth barrel. Then buy a AIM BCG and then buy a decent $150 handguard. All you'll have left is a gas tube and Lo-Pro Gas block. I like BCM but they charge a premium. I can build a much more accurate upper for at least $300 less than the one you posted.

Yeah that's what I was wondering most of all. The complete upper is nice but that was the one bit that I wasn't really sold on. I think I'm gonna take that advice.

I like all those parts. I'm not sold on those JP buffer/spring combo's but I actually have one on order myself for my SBR. :):

I have that exact stock and trigger & really like both. One thing I would add if using a sling with that stock is this little device: https://www.magpul.com/products/prs-qd-footmans-loop QD mounts are the way to go IMO.

I'm running the JP Enterprises JPSCS2-15 Silent Captured Spring I love it, I've only put a few 100 rds down it. My brother in law was the one who introduced me to it. He's ran a few 1000 with it. Depending on your set up there might be a little fine tuning but I love it.

WTF.....$110 for a Spikes LPK without a trigger group????? You're already ordering from JP. Get their LPK w/o FCG. Then add a BAD safety and whatever bolt release and mag release button float your boat if you need something fancy. Spikes doesn't specify what ambi safety comes with that kit, so I'm assuming it's not a BAD, which will be nicer (although mil-spec is 100% fine). And it comes with mil-spec bolt and mag catches. Also, it comes with a KNS pin kit. Geissele triggers come with precision ground pins which are better than KNS pins. You don't need that anti-rotational pin stuff with Geissele triggers. I would highly suggest rethinking this kit, and going with a JP parts kit and adding a BAD ambi safety and whatever bolt catch and mag button you want. You'll end up with a better kit for your rifle.

Yeah I agree that was some poor part googling there. I've since scrapped that for a significantly cheaper setup with just the common parts minus trigger and hand grip.

Smart. I've used Spikes standard LPK w/o trigger and grip and it was priced right and good quality. There's lots out there, I'd recommend either the JP or Spikes. I think I picked it up for about $30 from lanbosarmory (highly recommended, they're really cheap if you order a bunch of stuff). Then added a BCM grip for about $17, and I really like Forward Controls bolt catch and mag button.
