Bear in mind, these guys who died are the good guys in the current conflict, not foreign Al-Quaeda fighters. They could just as easily have been Syrian christians.

Free Syrian Army's Noor Den al-Zenke batallion

The Free Syrian Army has been fighting against Assad AND Al-Quaeda fighters, both. They are the original combatants, as you'd know if you'd been paying any attention to matters over there and trying to keep score, as many of us with an interest in the region have.
