Any one else suffer from an addiction problem? This is kinda a personal subject. But sometimes I just cant stop myself..... Ill be out driving and have to go down that dark road knowing I cant stop myself. I rush to the ammo section carefully eyeing the camping gear and clearance. I buy some ammo.... Then sometimes when Im alone I fondle my rifles and play with the red dot. I find myself searching the internet for that must have accessory for that super low price.... where does the madness end? Its currently causing other issues such as my barrel started smoking and ive got to much lead in my diet. At what point should I seek help for my gun addiction? Is there a support group? Or will this addiction never go away?

How many guns does it take to make a person an addict? I was hooked from gun #1. Be careful out there! :smileak:

I feel your pain brother. I no longer go to Wal Mart because I simply can't handle the dissapointment of looking into that empty case that once, even for a brief moment, held 9mm ammo. All I can say is that you aren't alone...keep fighting the good fight!

And a big :yesway: for the post!! :D

I think I'm a closet addict; trying to keep my obsession hidden from my friends and family so they don't start referring to me as a "gun nut." I willingly went to Wal-Mart the other day to pick up some household items just because it's right next to Gander Mountain and I could peruse the guns and ammunition.

You're in good company. It hard to come out of a gun store empty handed.

And to answer your question, it always takes 1 more to make you an addict!

    Get help quick.

Sorry to say you are addicted. This is not simply an addiction but a plague that has infected our nation. It all started on November 5, 2008. It starts very simply when you first touch blued steel and get your first whiff of gun oil. That "New Gun" smell that compels you to whip out your check book and buy anything capable of protecting yourself, family and 2nd amendment rights.

Sadly there is no cure. The only treatment is regular trips to the gun range, gun and ammo store and INGO. There are support groups like the NRA that we all belong to for help with our addiction.

Good luck, try not to spend too much and always keep your muzzle pointed in a safe direction.

I believe I may be an addict as well. I spend my evenings searching the internet as you do, for that one accessory piece at the lowest price available. My friend's believe I'm an addict now because last week, I bought 5 guns in 5 days. Three of them were purchased in a 5 hour period. You are not alone. However, I think this is one addiction I'm going to keep feeding and see where it takes me. :)

For me guns, classic cars, tools, guitars, music albums (CD's) nowadays, knives, ammo, reloading equipment, and last but not least fishing gear/equipment. I just can't help myself but to do it in excess! So I think I'm normal now guys, thanks for sharing your problems. We are the smart ones, a lot of guys I have worked with over the years have blown it at the bar and on boozing in general and have nothing to show for their hard work. :twocents:

There is not cure. INGO membership does seem to help though. At least you can still walk by a seed case(garden seeds)with out feeling compelled to buy more lol.

Hello. My name is Bob and I'm a gunaholic. I first realized I had a problem when I found my car going to the gun store rather than going home. My secondary symptom is browsing various ammo websites 5 times a day looking for my next fix. ;)

The previous statement turned out to be a dream and should not be taken seriously. Yeah, that's it! :D

Guys, I'll admitt I'm addicted too. But, like most junkies, I look for ways to rationalize my behavior.

SO, I am not a gun addict, I'm a concerned U.S.citizen using my 2A right to help stimulate the economy through purchases of rifles, handguns, acessories, and thousands of rounds of bulk ammunition. Just doing my part to help out, ya know!:patriot:

It is called "obsession" and a divine obsession it is. Yes, I am obsessive, how else would I have aquired the collection that I have in such short of a time, unless it is a matter of too much money and not enough brains.

I am obsessive, that is until reason is force upon me, then I have to scale back, sort of like I am trying to do now. Yes, awhile back I decided, NO MORE FIREARMS. A couple of firearms later, I am still telling myself the same thing.

Sigh. Actually I have been somewhat surprised lately that I have saved some money and been following my budget and the two firearms fit into the budget, or should I say, tax return?

Banish the thought of addiction. It is the way you were made, it is the very heart and soul of who you are, accept it!

INGO is the perfect support group!

Well, for me at least, in the sense that it seems most every time the addiction strikes me and I know I'm going to cave in, there's a thread here that helps me blow my money in the best way to get the most bang for my buck. :D

At least I'm trying to be an educated addict?
