I haven't seen anyone start an AAR thread yet so here goes...
Today was a great day for shooting pistols. Just a touch on the cool side but the sun peeked out just enough to make it comfortable.
If you carry and haven't taken a class then shame on you. The tips & skills you pick up in one of these classes can't be learned on your own at your average range. I know my club doesn't like rapid fire or drawing from a holster. All of those skills are taught and practiced in this DP101 class.
Class time was very informative & covered all of the basic info you need in a "freshman" level self defense class.
After the expertly grilled dogs we hit the range to practice what we learned in class.
We started with basic marksmanship but quickly progressed into group then one on one instructed and critiqued drills.
So instead of saying what happened I'll show you. Here are a few drills from today's class. I hope ACT & the students don't mind me sharing these. If you do, let me know & I'll pull them down from my youtube account. I think it'll give people a better feel for what goes on vs. just talking about it.
Car Ramrod on one of the drills:
