So I may have been recently posting about a M44 mosin that I jacked up (and repaired) with an arrow shaft, metal rod, rasp, patch etc ........ This is NOT that rifle
This rifle is a 91/30 mosin my brother asked me if I would like to buy because "its just too old and doesn't work" and would I buy it for $20. Let me be clear that my brother does not share the passion for firearms that I do, much to my families dismay. From the very limited description that I got, he shot the rifle ..... it has begun to rust, he never cleaned it and the chamber wont open. So, I imagine he shot cheap corrosive ammo through it and maybe has so much corrosion in it that the bolt has "stuck".
Here's the deal, even if it is in absolute horrid condition its a $20 MOSIN !!! , at a absolute worst case scenario its parts. Best case scenario I disassemble it and soak the metal parts in foam cleaner and we see what happens ............... I do solemnly swear by INGO , that I will NOT use an arrow/metal rod or over sized patches in the cleaning of this rifle.
I am not getting it till Wednesday, so wish me luck
