I've owned:
Ruger Super Blackhawk 7 1/2" (had a screw break off, tiny grip on pistol)
Ruger Super Redhawk 7 1/2" (huge & heavy, but nice for recoil)
Ruger Redhawk 5 1/2" (didn't care for trigger, but otherwise just fine)
and currently
S&W 629 4" (can't get a hogue grip tamer, overwise just fine)
All the guns were good guns and they all had their strengths. I bought and sold them for different reasons over the years and the reason I've got a S&W now is because I came across a steal on one. Between Ruger & S&W, flip a coin and see what fits your hand better.
