    Where's David Kopel?

Academics: Hardy? Kates? Reynolds? Johnson? Levinson? Tonso (University of Evansville)?

    Attorneys: Halbrook? Gura?

Normal, every day people deserve to be on that list more than anyone listed:

Regular Joes: Otis McDonald? Dick Heller? Mary Shephard?

Any of these at random deserve to be on the list more than anyone listed.

Too many politicians and talking heads on that list. There are tons of regular Joe advocates who are doing more for the cause than all of those listed combined. Kirk's list is a good starting point. Lots of people out there are toting wood and carrying water, far more than any of those people. Most of the folks on that list talk a lot, but beyond that? The author didn't even try.

the list is way off. there are probably 20 names that may be lawyers that have done cases that made a difference, or people who lobbied for rkba that are not mentioned.

whereas I saw some names of people on there I'd never heard of in 20 years of actively reading about rkba law

I'm not sure this list was necessarily meant to be a listing of those that have done the most to advance gun rights as much as a listing of people that people for whom are not "ate up with it" about guns like some of us, would see/hear calling for the advancement.

There's no doubt that the Gura's, Pratt's, and LaPierre's have done much, much, much more than the Sara Palin's of the world. But for those that are not in the weeds when it comes to gun issues, I'd wager many more people know her and hear her support much more than know what all or some of these other guys have done and are doing.

Don't forget Sheriff Campbell ( on our local State side )

A video featuring Sheriff Ken Campbell of Boone County, Ind., is capturing the attention of gun enthusiasts who have consistently argued that capping magazine sizes will do very little to save American lives. In a 14-minute instructional and debunk clip, Campbell narrates why a ban on high-capacity magazine sizes...
