I just heard on the radio that the federal government is going to push for a ban on the .223 / 5.56 round. The story stated that their stance is that the round does not have any real use for hunting.

Has anyone else heard of this?

I can only imagine what it is going to do to the cost of the ammunition.

Nope, totally false. I heard that someone mistakenly did an auto-insert on the document. It was supposed to be "Small Primer Case .45 ACP," so it's okay. The $10,000 in .223 that I'm buying is only for upcoming competitions.

    oh man....
You're getting grief (OP) because this has been widely discussed on INGO, youtube, and the interwebz in general. The ATF is proposing a ban on a very specific military surplus round, the "green tip" M855 because they want to classify it as armor piercing (linked with the ability to be fired in a 'handgun' - like an AR15 hangun - they want to make it a no-go and ban the round altogether)

It's all in fun. We recognize that everyone doesn't live on INGO like many of us.

If they could get away with it they no doubt would ban all ammo period. That's why it's so important we raise hell over this proposed ban. Call them out and expose them for the 2nd amendment violators they are for the world to see. Become a thorn in the side of your congressional respresentatives until they are pushed into action to stop this. They need to amend or pass a new law or laws that strips the soup of their authority to harass the 2n amendment and legal gun owners who wish no harm on anyone eapecialy the police.

Maybe the OP has some ammo he over paid for during the "panic" of late 2012 early 2013, so he is trying to create a "panic" to sell it. Not on here of course, but armslist. That way he can't be called out for "gouging".

Or he really has been living in one heck of a bug out location.
