Not sure if it's a great deal but it's probably not too bad of one either at Cabela's for 36 gr. copper coated HP's. You also get their plastic dry box with it. It was $79.99 so I bought a couple for my everyday plinking
Well Wally World has the 550 bulk packs of federal for about $17 a box. And my math puts what you bought at about $20per 550, so you have to decide how much the dry box is worth to you I guess.
You can get the 550 round boxes of .22's at WalMart for around $15 each, so 4x$15=$60 for 100 more rounds, without the box, but even if you buy a new ammo can, it still won't me more than the difference in price.
Checked the prices for a brick of .22LR and it blew my mind. Prices are getting crazy! Don't want to list any prices because it would give away the sellers, and I am all for capitalism. Doesn't mean I agree with the price, but I defend their right to ask the price and buyers to say no.
These days, if you find any ammo for a price you are happy with, that is all that really matters.
Bought one box of Federals, one box of Winchesters Fri. at Winchester's WM. One was 17.95, one 18.95, or thereabouts. Both in the 550 neighborhood, so not too awful. But not 8 bucks a brick, either.
Has anyone done a test of the different brands of 'bargain 22lr ammo'? With my new 22, I've put about 300 rounds of the Remington through it and I've had 5 DNF and too many jammed. The ammo seems really dirty too. Oily and had bits of lead flashing in the box. I saw the Federal there at Walmart too... same price.
The thing about cabelas is the discounts. I just got one in the mail for $20 off $150. Using those in conjunction with cabelas club points start to make purchases there very good deals.
