Spent the afternoon wiping down some of my collection and decided to get a group pic of my 44 Tula's & Izhevsk's. Still have some holes in my Izhevsk collection, most notably an ex-sniper ( its in transit) and a 91/30, but it shouldn't take to long to fill those final holes and start looking for the oddballs of the groups.

    From left to right,

Very nice collection Comrade! thanks for the Pix. Never knew the they still made the hex's in the later years.

The Russians reused hex recievers for new production between 41-45. Most where reused by the izhevsk arsenal between 41-43, with a small number being used by them in 44-45. The Tula arsenal used recycled recievers mostly in 1944, using both hex, and "low wall" recievers. ( low wall production ceased in early 42). The 44 Tula 91/30 MO is a recycled LW reciever.

Also in the late teens and early 20's, during there Civil War, the Russians reused a large number of recievers for new production since they where lacking in skilled workers to work in the Tula arsenal.

Nice collection! How long have you been working on that?

Started on 44 Tula's about 2 years ago, and 44 Izhevsk's back in March. I am happy to say that as of this morning I now have all the major variations of the 44 Izhevsk with the addition of a 91/30 so now I will be looking for any oddballs and starting a collection of 42 Finns
