Sharpshooter
Since input was asked for, I'll put my .02 into the fray! I shot some USPSA in 2011 and 2012 because I was new to competition shooting I was trying any shooting sports I could find. I enjoyed it, but cost was certainly a factor. I quit shooting it because of an injury that made moving and shooting not very fun. I resumed shooting USPSA a little in 2018, but found that I enjoyed Steel Challenge more, as it was more fun for me and less expensive.
Fast forward to 2022. I shot a qualifier match a few weeks ago, it was less than 100 rounds and I enjoyed it!!!! I had hoped to shoot the regular match that was to be held today, but weather killed it! I am one of those who might shoot a few USPSA matches if round count were somewhere under 150 rounds. I don't reload, so shooting 4 or more boxes of 9mm is a bit expensive for me.
I shoot some 9mm in Steel Challenge, but mostly at matches. I don't shoot too much 9mm while practicing at the range, I tend to stay with .22 LR. About the only time I shoot any 9 is when practicing with my personal carry gun or my home defense guns.
