Springfields are great guns to start with if your going to modify or add too. If you are going box stock and leaving it that way then the Taurus is not a bad choice but as you mentioned the reviews are mixed. I actually own a Taurus and have been fortunate that it has been completely reliable...
:welcome: from a fellow Plainfielder.:yesway: Actually I get to claim more than Plainfield as I am stuck in the middle of nowhere with Plainfield taxes, Avon Schools and an Indianapolis address.
Throw another vote in for the Kel-Tec PF9, carry it everyday either ankle or pocket depending on clothing worn. It is comfortable, light, as accurate as a pocket gun can be, powerful and at a good price point. I would love to own a kahr as well but the price is a big sticking point. Just my...
zoglog, if you don't mind me asking, what did you give for the 10/22. I am in the market for one but don't want to spend much as most will end up stripped off of it. Thanks.
Congrats on the nice glock, got one very similar too it, except I got the wood bullhead grips, have about 400 rounds through mine. I have not had one hiccup feeding or ejecting and shoots some amazing groups for a "cheap" factory gun, definitely a keeper.
Nice Hoyt, congrats. Is the shop you picked it up from local to you, greenfield I am assuming. I have been wanting to get a compound bow for goofing around the backyard, not looking to spend that kind of money. I would like to try a few in my price range that fits me well.
Congrats on the very nice STI. Let us know how it shoots, I am too poor to buy one but I am quite happy with my taurus which shoots amazing so I can not complain.
Can't go wrong with any of your choices, all will be fun either way. 9mm will probably be the most economical though. Olympic Arms has a nice selection of 9mm, 10mm and 45acp. I really like the thought of a 10mm sbr, 10mm in a handgun isn't that much fun but in a rifle that would be some fun...
If you shoot a PF9 much I highly recommend throwing on a Hogue Jr. Handall, takes alot of the bite out. First couple hundred rounds through mine were brutal, now with the hogue it is much more tolerable to do extended shooting practice.
Congrats on the new G19, awesome handgun. Wouldn't sweat the reloads too much as others have said, my G23 has digested thousands of rounds of reloads and still keeps ticking away, I do load them very conservatively though and save the full power house stuff to factory loads. Have fun and be safe.
TacticalShotgunner.com I have not tried this one yet, but very soon I plan on iy. All the reviews are great on it and he is a site supporter.

Congrats on the new gun and for quitting smoking, nasty habit and expensive from what I hear and as you know. Now I must go join the pity party as these are our of my price range for a long time too.
I agree with most that you probably can't go wrong with either, both have a good reputation. Handle both and see what feels best for you, me it was the 870 and the safety on the mossy messes me up.
