welcome,I was born in LEE COUNTY,went to VA TECH and Medical College of VA,VA is a great state, but I like being a Hoosier better, great state for shooters
I learned to shoot my DA/SA BY FIRING 2 SHOTS AT A TIME da / saTHEN DECOCK REPEAT,after a while the transition and da will come naturally,I notice a lot of people at the range will fire da,then empty the rest of the mag single action, this is ok if you have the da down pat,but there is a learning...
yes I would like to try competive shoot ing, ,I'm 63 and probably would do better w a sundial than a timer, but if I just show up, try it ,would proably make me better at home defense,do they have senior devisons ?
trouble w me is I take the money I save on reloading and buy more components for more reloading sometimes a lot more, but I have alot more fun shooting ,saving money argument worked well w the wife when I bought my set up
I have a couple guys that I let hunt on my land when I'm not. they post the farm, help mend the fences ,send me thank you notes and are as protective of the hunting grounds as me .God help another hunter if they catch one there.
that's because it is strange ,when you get old you want everything you can get to put the odds on your side ,will be moving to near Harlan Ky in a few months to my farm
no eddie I've got the gun w red dot now but it will be multi use which optics if at all would you use seriously ? I guess which ever you think would be most rugged would be a start ,
will be used as farm gun legal in that state for turkey, bear, deer; 1 mile from a public road with people there that like to grow and make chemicals in the boondocks, possesive about their product and don't take kindly to notifying police about it either, rifle will see rough use on tractor, truck
LFI 60% clasroom 40%shooting but you will learn the ins and outs of justified self defense, a lot of lawyers there when I took it ,AYOOB is an interesting guy ,take this course first, multiple appearances as expert witness :rockwoot:MTG has him train there:rockwoot:
:dunno:have always wondered about these do they rotate so you don't have to screw in and out dies? are they as solid practically as say a rockchucker jr?
thanks, the pistol is well broken in,but I hear so many people say 200 rds of a particular round before you carry it I was woundering if I need to go 200 rds w the dpx, interesting enough I do carry the tarus in my lightwt commander I'll break out the calipers and ck for setback the dpx does have...
:rolleyes:had posted about powerball and apparently issues w penetration from reply have put 120 dpx thru my ed brown feeds great is this a good round for self defense? man I dread spending the money to get to the recomennded 200 rounds
I have a lever action in 45 colt [long colt] that I would like to use for home defenese; can I load up a tubular mag without worring about the mag blowing up from aprimer being set off by recoil?:patriot:
