I have had a lot , I MEAN A LOT of target rifles ....Annies , Unertle scoped 52's Walthers , etc. Sporters are where it is for me nowadays.
Been away for a while......
Bought a 52C Target Rifle , looks excellent shape , a lot of life left. It is in the process of being turned into a Sporter.
I have done this several times before....love custom rifles.
I prefer the "C's" for the great triggers.

Another Crow Hunting Story ....got a 22-250 in a Browning Safari ....it was one holer at 100 yds.

30-40 years ago, before the bird flu killed a lot of crows and others. I did quite a lot of crow hunting.
My caller played records. We would set up under a box culvert on a frozen creek, put up my Owl decoy inna a dead tree, put out a couple crow decoys and hang a sheet from the box culvert...
O.F. Mossberg model 144 LS. Not shot out, excellent shape , as it is virtually un-used. Would be a good starter rifle for young or old . Has been in hiding .
