We offer travel experts and our own high yield courses in Pistol, Carbine (already passed this year) and Shotgun but we specialize in providing upper level courses with scenario and context based learning.
We have 6 spots left in our Pistol Mechanics class on 6/24. If you haven't been...
Just out of curiosity, of those of you who have taken technique courses in pistol shooting, how many of you have taken a course focused on scenarios, or the specific contexts, in which you might need to employ said skills?
For LEO's that makes sense, but they have a very low percentage of truly expert marksmen (their qual designation not withstanding) outside of maybe SWAT. Most of their qualifications are little more than sobriety tests.
I expect you would see a lot of misses also in beginning competition...
This is not true. The 25% hit percentage is nationally the average number for LEOs. Trained expert marksman civilians and actual expert marksman LEOs hit at a much higher percentage. In Rangemaster classes Tom makes fun of people shooting at that number. He expects his students to do much...
Having trained with a number of the best trainers in the country I can tell you that they frequently will carry different guns both to try out new things and due to context. some even switch between striker fired and revolvers. Its all about competence. I would not recommend that to a new...
The only concern I have with a rotation is if the guns have different mechanics than each other. IE if one has a thumb safety or is DA/SA where the other(s) do not. I switch between my M&P Shield2.0, compact and duty sized guns depending on my context and I am not the least bit worried about...
Condition Red Response has a number of great courses available for beginners and experienced shooters.

We just finished hosting a vehicle defense course with John Farnam and we are also hosting renowned instructor Greg Ellifritz for a civilian based building clearing course.
Come see...
Yes. It actually evaluates several skill sets. Draw efficiency, trigger control, and recoil management/grip.
IMO its more of a “test” thsn a practice drill.

Come learn to use your AR/AK etc from the top instructors at Condition Red Response!
Entry level gun Safety class is prerequisite.
Topics cover function, efficiency, movement, positions, scenarios, and more.
A 5 shot gun will work. Unless it doesn’t.
Why carry a higher capacity? You can always not shoot all the bullets. You can never make the liw capacity gun grow more.
Why carry a low capacity? Context doesn’t allow anything else. (Although the sig 365 kinda obsoletes a j-frame these days...
We just added this Defensive Shotgun Skills to our fall schedule!
If you think a shotgun can’t be a precision instrument or the recoil is just to much to be practical…. Join us and let us change your mind!
You shouldn’t need to do much of a break in on mags. A couple runs should suffice. The key is the combination of mag, ammo, gun.
Keep the carry mags pristine as possible by not using them regularly for training.
At the end of the year, I run the mag and re-test the carry ammo then refill...
Ive seen this. In fact it was potentially the starting point for inspiring my experiment.
IMO “not tapping” is skipping a potentially needed (albeit rarely needed) procedure in a malfunction clearance. Thus I was curious to see how much time I would lose by performing it. Now I have a data...
Like i said, its a still frame in motion. The gun is tapped on the way into workspace but the rack and roll occurs in my workspace. Video available on my Facebook page.
I’ve seen some really great advice above! A little more background for the curious:
Pepper spray is typically delivered in 1 of 3 ways. As a fog, gel, or stream.
All work. All have pros and cons. For the most part I recommend streams (specifically POM although saber red is also good—i...
