I have really like the impact sport electronic muffs, they are slim enough not to get in the way with my cheek weld at all and like that is quite easy to change out the batteries.
In my mind a small trauma kit (with gloves) should be close by any time you have a weapon of any sort. While I am no lawyer, I strong supect that good sumertarian laws would still aply to someone treating an injury even if they where the one to inflict said injury.
These where the first electronic hearing protection that I have used so my experance is limited but I have had good luck with them so far easy to change the batteries and nice and slim.
I have had mine for 3 years and have pull at least a couple thousand rounds though it and have zero problems with. I think a lot of the higher end 1911 are made way tighter then need to be. The only complaint that I have is the finish shows wear very badly.
