I have had the same issue on two of our properties. On one property, they are aware of the cams that they have not located and show it by wearing full face coverings. This has been mostly during ginseng season and they are after quick money.
I occasionally use my Glock 20 plus an extra mag. It has never failed to fire and is accurate. My big concern is theft and whatever could happen next. So with some engineering, it is secure, yet easy for me to get to. All this being said, it never spends the night in my truck. I have a simple...
I have a friend that borrowed my Glock 20 so often, I needed to pick up another one. It is good to always have one ready to go. Oh, he is a die hard 1911 shooter.
A neighbor of mine passed away a couple of years ago leaving behind a 100 gun collection acquired over fifty or more years. He told his wife she should give them to family members. So she did. It started with a gift of one rifle to a nephew and in short order long line of distant relatives...
On our farms we have had stands placed by trespassers several times over the years. I have learned that quiet removal works the best. People do not like to place stands in woods that have a history of stand “stealing”.
It is too easy to buy a vintage Marlin or Winchester and not experience anything but a good experience. A bunch of these guns are sitting around in closets in near unfired condition. The challenge is being patient and present when these rifles become available.
We grind our meat and the run it through the stuffer with a patty maker attachment installed. Then we layer the patties on a tray to freeze with waxed butcher paper between the layers. Next, the trays are enclosed in large bags and frozen over night. Finally, the frozen patties are separated...
We have been involved with raising beef cattle for decades. Funny thing is that we rarely eat beef. I started processing my own deer when I was in college and cash poor. Over the years venison became our main meat so much that we prefer it over beef. I have a grinder, stuffer, mixer, and a...
In my younger years we pistol hunted them with Ruger Mark Two and Browning Buckmarks. It was always in early bean fields and took some serious stalking. We killed quite a few and the farmer paid us two dollars each. It kept us in ammo money. I have seen more groundhogs on our farms the past two...
I have traded for a few 9 mm handguns in Ruger, Smith and Wesson, and Springfield to put in deep storage to use as barter if needed with friends if things were ever to get real ugly. I sure don’t want to lend them any of my collected firearms, while at the same time I would want them to have...
We like to make venison jerky and then vacuum seal and freeze a few bags for longer term storage. We also do a couple of jars with the plan of consuming the jerky within a month. Funny how we have yet to have any of these jars last longer than a few days.
