All, I have sold the 30-06 Colt 57 to a younger person who fell in love with it. Hmmm... Typically they are all about the black rifles. I'm hoping he plans on keeping it forever.
Thanks guys!
So, Kokomo Dave, Wouldn't something like 460 Smith and Wesson, or the 300 Weatherby have a tendency to get into that steel and leave a bit of a crater? Reason I'm asking is that I've shot into the softer steels, and even with a 5.56 there was quite the crater. Sorry, not a...
Thanks guys..... I do have the typical Bass Pro purchased AR plate - and correct, the new stuff doesn't rust. I failed to mention that this plate is "antique", from the 1940's era.
On another note, this plate was cut out using a cutting torch. As for the thickness -see below.
And just thought of another one...... my Model 1912 20Ga. pump with a full choke. It was passed to me from my Father some time ago.... 2008? Bluing is pretty much gone (imagine that) and the wood has seen better days too. All in all a very light shotgun that's a blast to shoot! Not sure on the...
And I'm not sure what it is. I'm thinking it's AR plate???
It's 36" x 24" x 3/4" and that bugger is heavy - Say 180+! We have shot everything from .22LR to 300Wby with no effects other than the typical splashing. However, you can see that there are seven or so holes completely through it. I...
Old Winchester? How about a 12 gauge Super X Model One? I bought it back in the early eighties. It's a typical field grade with an improved cylinder choke on a 26" barrel. They don't make 'em like this anymore as just about all steel on it was milled. Decent walnut and deep rich bluing too...
Gents - I"m eyeballing a 686 and may purchase it.....
It's a 4" stainless - that has no Hillary Hole and has the firing pin built into the hammer. Would this be the first gen for the L frame??? Any ideas for the year it was purchased?
Action is super sweet too!
Thanks in advance!
Okay.... I admit - I bought a Diamondback 380. Go ahead and laugh....... Yes, not very reliable. I contacted DB and they said that since I''m the second owner, I gotta ship and pay to have it fixed. Yeah, Don't care to.
So, was thinking about trading it in on a QUALITY SMALL .380. Perhaps a...
Thanks so much two70... Now I need to run over to teh LGS and see what they have for 45 Colt hunting loads. Wander how they will print - say at 100 yds, or perhaps limit the distance to 50 yds?
Not sure if anyone posted Madison Outdoors.
https://www.madisonoutdoors.net/
The people there (George and his mother Barb) are the greatest! No high pressure or time limits. The shop is very small, however they keep it stocked with quality firearms, used quality firearms and reloading/optics...
My nod goes to the Jollymons BAD ARSE 870.... That thing looks freakin awesome!
Not to mention that those ol' 870's had a particular "ring" when ya cycle the action.... SWEET!
Just traded my Mini 14 in 300BLK for a 938 Sig. Crazy I know.... Now looking for BETTER a semi auto in sufficient caliber that will easily dump pigs in FL. Recommendations gents?
Was at the local McD's in Madison just yesterday. Couldn't believe it - they had a post at the door for NO FIREARMS ALLOWED. Is this at ALL McD's?
Nothing like a target rich environment!
Trapper Jim - I totally agree! I bought this 550 from Norm's Sport Shop, west of Ft. Wayne / East of Columbia City "like" last century. Hell, I don't know when they even closed..... Say late 1980's? To this day, I don't think Dillon (or other manufacturers) have changed a thing!
