FNX-40 owner here, FNH has one of the smoothest shooting pistols out there in the polymer style IMO. I too have read customer support horror stories but I have not had to deal with them at all. FNH makes a fien product in the FNS & FNX lines, I will be adding a FNX9 and 45 tac. to my collection...

sometimes in the middle of a call of duty match my $100+ turtle beach headset batteries will tank, these are the rechargeable ones so that makes me have to get up, walk to the charging station and switch them out, this usually results in 1-2 deaths during the match
