It always amazes me how much a small 2-3 mph breeze can effect a .22 at ranges out past 100 yards. If I am shooting 1/2 MOA at 50 yards, I am generally around 1 at 100 with a small breeze. Sometimes even more than that depending on how dirty or warm the barrel is.
Not a firearms related reply, but I was pulled over and ticketed on 96th street by HH Greg. Haha, I could not believe it was a 35 zone. It is a four lane road! Glad you had a good experience though, most officers in Carmel are great people.
Yes, I was referring to the 795, which is basically just a 60 that is magazine fed. I was not confused, but both rifles are so similar I tend to bulk them together :) Great starter rifles and surprisingly accurate, fun, plinking guns.
I guess I just do not see the issue here. If I see something that is overpriced in MY eyes, I just skip it or try to reach an agreement. If someone sees their item being more valuable than I do, so be it.
I thought really hard about getting a second Marlin 795 when I found one with a stainless barrel. Just couldn't make the decision fast enough. Wouldn't be against it though.
It can't really, can it? I have been shooting bare lead from .22's here. Other than electroplated copper wash, there are no true FMJ's in a .22 correct?
Went this morning. I enjoyed talking to a few guys and saw some neat stuff, but the minute I saw the .40 s&w Hi Point carbine for $650.00 I knew I wouldn't be buying anything. Ended up buying a knife and a few small things even though I told myself not to.
Good on you Saints. The last thing his family needs I am sure is the news parading cameras around the scene to talk to everyone who was within a quarter mile of this incident.
Been passively looking at K98's and a few other older rifles, so Ill be heading to Tipton. Hope to see you INGOers up there! Any idea how large of a show this normally is?
Yes, but how do you think it gets into the tupperware container? It has to be removed from the holster somewhere. Either in the parking lot or in the store, and neither one of those seems safer than a holster removal in a shooting bay.
I am sorry, but how does this make it any better? You talk about safety, but is a firearm sitting loose in a tupperwear container safer than one in a holster? I doubt it. Also, why should individuals who carry have to stop off property and fiddle with their firearm when it would be safer to...
I agree, and for what it would cost to add a nice poly stock and scope to a Mosin, you are in the same range as a Savage Axis or a Ruger American. And, these will have new barrels. If you want to sporterize a Mosin, no one is going to stop you, but there are other options for around the same...
