22 lr shooting at 50 an 100 yds

It always amazes me how much a small 2-3 mph breeze can effect a .22 at ranges out past 100 yards. If I am shooting 1/2 MOA at 50 yards, I am generally around 1 at 100 with a small breeze. Sometimes even more than that depending on how dirty or warm the barrel is.

Marlin Model 60 show and tell

I had one from Shooter's Ridge and it was not very reliable for me, but there is also one from ProMag that I would like to try out.

Under fire, Detroit police chief won’t back down

Is there need for purple here? Haha. It seems that in dire situations, many can see the necessity of firearms. The police can't be everywhere at once.

+1 to one of Carmel's finest

Not a firearms related reply, but I was pulled over and ticketed on 96th street by HH Greg. Haha, I could not believe it was a 35 zone. It is a four lane road! Glad you had a good experience though, most officers in Carmel are great people.

Marlin Model 60 show and tell

Yes, I was referring to the 795, which is basically just a 60 that is magazine fed. I was not confused, but both rifles are so similar I tend to bulk them together :) Great starter rifles and surprisingly accurate, fun, plinking guns.

      AHHHHH

I guess I just do not see the issue here. If I see something that is overpriced in MY eyes, I just skip it or try to reach an agreement. If someone sees their item being more valuable than I do, so be it.

Marlin Model 60 show and tell

My first gun was the magazine fed version of the 60 and I will always love that thing. Great job on the rebuild!

What do you have two of?

I thought really hard about getting a second Marlin 795 when I found one with a stainless barrel. Just couldn't make the decision fast enough. Wouldn't be against it though.

New Indoor Range Opening in Westfield

It can't really, can it? I have been shooting bare lead from .22's here. Other than electroplated copper wash, there are no true FMJ's in a .22 correct?

      Tipton Gun Show, Feb 1 & 2

Went this morning. I enjoyed talking to a few guys and saw some neat stuff, but the minute I saw the .40 s&w Hi Point carbine for $650.00 I knew I wouldn't be buying anything. Ended up buying a knife and a few small things even though I told myself not to.

      Pizza Driver Shot Tonight

Good on you Saints. The last thing his family needs I am sure is the news parading cameras around the scene to talk to everyone who was within a quarter mile of this incident.

      Tipton Gun Show, Feb 1 & 2

Been passively looking at K98's and a few other older rifles, so Ill be heading to Tipton. Hope to see you INGOers up there! Any idea how large of a show this normally is?

      Tipton Gun Show, Feb 1 & 2

Uhoh, now I have to decide between this and the Lafayette show for Saturday. Not a bad problem to have.

Lafayette (Fairgrounds) Gun and Knife Show Feb. 1st & 2nd

Thank you for the reply. It is about 45 minutes for me, but I will probably make the trip. Look forward to seeing some INGOers there!

Help me pick out a Scope for a Marlin XT-22 to use at Appleseed

Probably not what you are looking for, but Tech Sights are always a good call : )

Lafayette (Fairgrounds) Gun and Knife Show Feb. 1st & 2nd

How is this show normally? Never been.

New Indoor Range Opening in Westfield

Yes, but how do you think it gets into the tupperware container? It has to be removed from the holster somewhere. Either in the parking lot or in the store, and neither one of those seems safer than a holster removal in a shooting bay.

New Indoor Range Opening in Westfield

I am sorry, but how does this make it any better? You talk about safety, but is a firearm sitting loose in a tupperwear container safer than one in a holster? I doubt it. Also, why should individuals who carry have to stop off property and fiddle with their firearm when it would be safer to...

      Sporterizing milsurps

I agree, and for what it would cost to add a nice poly stock and scope to a Mosin, you are in the same range as a Savage Axis or a Ruger American. And, these will have new barrels. If you want to sporterize a Mosin, no one is going to stop you, but there are other options for around the same...

      Self defense in action!

Nice catch, missed that. I am sure he won't have that problem again if he needs to use his firearm.
