+1 to the Fort Knox top-opening safe posted above. I have one in my nightstand and it is great. It's small enough that it fits inside my nightstand, but large enough for 2 compact handguns and a few mags.
We just got done covering this story.
This is an image put together by Greenwood PD of the trajectory of one of the rounds.
Two more rounds struck a house further to the west.
The thing is, you can EASILY SEE HOUSES FROM THE PROPERTY.
I wouldn't be caught shooting anything on that piece of...
I will add another vote for the Rugers SR9c. I love that I can have the 10 rnd mag for a little extra concealment if I need it. However, since I don't really care about that too much, the 17rnd mag never leaves the gun.
It's probably the best shooting gun I've ever owned. It is a slim gun as...
I went there, and +1 to what Dmarsh said.
I carried a lot at BSU. On campus, off campus, to the bar(probably not the best idea, though)...I just always had it on me.
CC and there will be no issues.
And hey, Ball State was the best 7 years of my life!
Yesterday at Menards in Carmel.
As I was checking out, I looked behind me to see a nice 1911 on the hip of another shopper.
NRA T-shirt and jeans...another INGOer, possibly?
Oh yeah, and Speedway at 32 and Hazel Dell Rd.
On a side note, I OC'd into Las Rocas for take out dinner a few days...
I'm glad I'm not the only one that has given this thought. I always carry everything, including my youngest son, with my weak arm.
I pray I never need to defend my self with my gun while holding my son, but you can't know when or where evil will visit you.
I'll take a gun fight with my son in...
"Detroit Assistant Chief says they are not looking for homeowners to take the law into their own hands and become "mini police officers." He says they are looking for witnesses who can help get criminals off the streets. "
Looks like these homeowners have found a pretty effective way to get...
During: A constant awareness that I need to keep an eye on people behind me. I was ultra protective of my strong side.
After: Nothing...
I would say I OC about 70% of the time. In the summer it's much more often. When I do CC, I never have more than a shirt over the gun and the holster peeks...
I have a Fobus double mag carrier...paddle-style, not belt-loop.
It gets the job done, however it has little sharp plastic parts that dig into my side.
Maybe, if I lost a few pounds it would help.
I don't walk out my front(or back) door without my gun on my hip. I'll be damned if these miscreants will take advantage of me or my wife.
We have some new neighbors. Not sure yet what their stance in on the 2A, but I'm sure I'll find out soon.
I have a buddy who was a Knoxville cop through the Christian/Newsom murders.
They were just a couple leaving an apartment. They were abducted and met horrific demise.
Christian/Newsom Murders
It's one of the many instances I quote if someone I care about needs justification to carry a gun.
I carried to class a few times. IWB in the small of my back.
It was very easy during the winter months to conceal, and as long as you don't make it obvious, no one would ever know.
I did live off campus, though. So I never had to worry about my dorm room mate coming across my gun in my desk...
Streamlight ProTac 2L in my strong side accessory pocket. If i'm not wearing my Tru-Specs, I carry it clipped in my right rear back pocket or a cargo pocket.
Speedway Gas Station @ South and West Streets downtown. Colt Defender .45 on my hip.
Walked in, grabbed my Monster Mocha-Java-Caffeine-Bomb and walked to the register.
A few moments later I hear a, "Man..." behind me.
I ignored him as I didn't know if he was talking to me or not. He stepped...
