I don't do anything that would put much wear in them, but I have a pair of "Operator Tactical Pants" (hereafter OTP) from LA Police Gear that I'm pretty pleased with. They're around $20 per pair. They have BDU pants at the same price, too. I think the only major difference between the two might...
If you're hardening your doors, don't neglect the lock. Most of the Kwikset/Schlage locks that people use to secure their homes can be picked open pretty easily. Hardening the doorway doesn't do much if someone can just unlock it and walk right in.
That said, the lock I've heard recommended the...
I'm going to have to recommend an update. You say "Only a trained, military doctor should have access an X-Acto knife!".
Certainly you just forgot to mention that they should only have access to them while they're in the military. As soon as they are honorably discharged, they become a...
I've heard that the SR9's can have problems with light strikes. Every SR9 doesn't have the problem, but quite a few do. Ruger will fix it, if you get a faulty one, but maybe a brand new gun shouldn't need fixing.
And what's the point of it being so close to the magwell? Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems like you'd be just as well off using a magwell grip and saving your money.
I put my lower together using only a stock wrench, screwdriver, hex driver, and a pair of Robogrips. I used one of the guides on ar15.com. The guide mentioned that if you went the vicegrip route, you would want to wrap some electrical tape around it. Take this advice, or you WILL end up with...

Dunham's has a special on .223 Rem Wolf ammo right now. 5.30/box of 20. That's the CLOSEST I've seen to internet pricing in person. A surplus...
Main thing I'm thinking is the difference in ammo quantities. The AR-15 not only has (much) higher capacity, but the small size of the 5.56 round also means it's not difficult to carry a lot of it. Not so easy with 8-round en bloc clips of .30-06.
Shot for shot, the M1 might be more...
I've heard that the M16 bolt-carrier is more desirable in AR-15 builds by virtue of the fact that this extra metal gives the carrier some extra mass, which in turn increases reliability and decreases wear on the rifle.
I'm not sure if there's any truth to that, but most of the higher end...
When I got my first rifle, this was something that I was worried about as well. But the general consensus seemed to be that barrels don't need to be "broken in". Some people even suggested that it might be detrimental to accuracy and longevity to "break in" a barrel (but I'm not sure that this...
While yes, heat can cause corrosion, I don't think you'd be able to keep the barrel hot enough for long enough through sustained fire to cause heat corrosion before some other part failed.
(In other words, you probably shouldn't worry about it)
Yeah, I've ordered stuff through them twice and both times the delivery tracking was working just fine. I'll keep an eye out for it, though, in case it show up unannounced (which would be no problem whatsoever ;)).
I've only heard good things about PMAGs, so I bought a couple for the AR I am building (and since it's still a work in progress, I haven't gotten to use them), but they're lightweight and the construction seems solid, so I don't anticipate having problems with them.
I bought a lower during their sale around New Year's. It shipped MUCH quicker than I had expected (something like they said that they wouldn't ship till the 15th or something, but the guy shipping mine didn't get the memo and sent it out on the 7th). Not too long ago I got the MOE lower parts...
I wasn't aware that the fire selection being in red and white was an H&K thing. I guess I figured most manufacturers did that when filling the engravings. It definitely more easily distinguishes "fire" from "safe".
I think you probably deduced this already, but I did the painting myself. I used...
