I've been to a few gun auctions, and this has pretty much been my experience as well. It's fun to go and look at all of the guns, but I haven't see any bargains. If anything, it seemed to me that it was much more likely for a gun to end up going for more than it's retail value than less.
When will this "war on freedoms..errr, uhh, I mean drugs"...insanity end? For the record: I don't use any drugs, not even pot (okay, I admit that I've probably hit on 3 or 4 joints in the last 20 years), unless you count alcohol as a drug...which I guess it is. I was a conservative all of my...
Yeah, and I think I'm guilty of assisting in that. My apologies.
FTR...I think you handled the situation well. The only other thing you might have done, is call the police to inform them of the suspicious timing of this "inspection" offer. That might have saved someone a break-in down the...
"I know Indiana has reciprocity with Minnesota and that I am NOT required to inform him."
FYI, Indiana recognizes ALL valid permits from other states. Too bad MN doesn't return the favor. As a MN resident, maybe you could let your representatives know that true reciprocity would be a nice...
What's wrong with a plain old mossberg? I'll take mine up against all the zombies you want (with enough ammo, of course). I didn't read this whole thread, so this might have already been mentioned, but if you're into to zombie movies, check out AMC's recent series called "The Walking Dead"...
Yeah, this whole "officer safety" issue kinda puzzles me. If I had evil intentions, why would I leave the gun in plain sight and explicitly tell him it's there? Hell, if a real BG happened to come along and start something, I'd even pitch in and help. Who knows, it's conceivable that I could...
This happened to me a few months ago. I was driving back to Indy from Louisville early in the morning (about 2am) with my elderly father riding shotgun. I was speeding, and got pulled over by an ISP unit. I had my 1911 in plain sight stuck in between the seats. When the officer approached, I...
Unfortunately, this changes nothing. Private screening companies are still required to follow the TSA guidelines. As a nation, we need to demand that the TSA be restrained.
What I really find stupid is when they're posted on a gun store. I'm NOT leaving my weapon in the car (and I see no need to unload it). So I usually just ignore those signs, but it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth for those shops.
While it is possible to be killed by a punch (as you've clearly shown), the risk of engaging in a fist fight or wrestling match while armed goes beyond that. You could easily find yourself incapacitated, either by a punch or a hold, and be disarmed by your assailant. At that point, your very...
Just saw this, and thought I'd post it here. It looks like some lots were undercharged, which is obviously really dangerous.
