Armscor sent me a prepaid FedEx shipping label to return it to them for repair. I was worried I might have issues when I dropped it off, but the drop off place was busy and told me to just leave it on the counter since it was prepaid. Tracking number shows its on its way, so far so good! They...
Now that they have seen the picture of the barrel, they have issued an RMA for me to return the gun for warranty service. I'm still trying to work out how I go about shipping. I will post an update when I know more.
Initial response from Armscor is that their accuracy standard is 4 inches at 15 yards. If I return the gun for service and when tested it meets their standard, then I will be responsible for the shipping and service expenses.
I did not previously have the option to supply pictures, so I have...
Thanks for the feedback. I agree, and I mentioned in my first post above that I have contacted RIA, but they have not yet responded. However, the warranty specifically says they will not cover the shipping costs. If that does turn out to be the case, I can probably replace the barrel myself for...
This gun is tight! No perceptible movement in the barrel/ bushing lockup or the barrel to slide. Barrel crown looks good to me. I really expected this to be an excellent shooter based on the great fit of everything.
I have a very worn old colt commander that is sloppy as can be and it will way...
I picked up a very lightly used Rock Island TAC ultra HC 45 acp 1911 back in February from my favorite localish gun shop. They didn’t know anything about the gun because it was purchased through an auction, but it was very tight and looked like new. The first time I shot it, using 230gr FMJ...
I was told their brass is good, but I wasn't too impressed with the 308 that I got. I only got 3 reloadings before the primer pockets were too loose. After that experience, several friends said they weren't surprised because Norma brass tends to be soft?
The people doing those videos are probably better shots than I am, and probably more accurate equipment, but I have not had as good of luck with the Norma 308. I still like it though, the white tail 150gr is probably the most accurate non-match grade stuff that I have found. I got a 1.6" group...
Just picked up this damascus steel straight razor at a gun show last weekend. No identifying markings on it of any kind, but it sure looks nice to me. The edge is a little banged up and not sharp enough to shave, but hopefully I can fix that.
My p938 (3" barrel) shoots factory ammo rated at 1150fps at about 1000fps. I also picked up a box of sig elite 124 jhp last week and tried those as well. They're rated at 1165fps and shot at 1045fps out of my 938. They are hot loads for standard pressure! Noticeably more recoil and the primers...
I went just before lunch Saturday and it was packed! Unfortunately I didn't find any casting supplies at all. Didn't find any reloading supplies that I was looking for either. The gun prices were mostly higher than I expected, so nothing even tempted me. The only thing I walked away with was a...
I think I'm going to repeat the entire load ladder but shoot it off of a sandbag to compare point of impact to my factory carry loads. Then pick the load that has the closest poi to use as my practice load. I'm still leery of using reloads as carry loads for liability reasons even though I think...
ru44mag, I follow the Elvis Ammo youtube channel. That's really what convinced me that I would powder coat if I do get into bullet casting. Thanks for the tip. He was doing a series on making priming compound, but I never saw a conclusion. Anyone know what happened to that? I figure youtube...
This is going to be long, so bear with me if you will as I explain my story. I'm fairly new to reading, just got into it about 2 years ago and with the component shortages during this time I haven't loaded or shot nearly as much as I'd like.
I started with 9mm, 115 fmj, and cfe pistol powder...
How does the selling and trading work at this show? Do you happen to know? I have some things I've been thinking about getting rid of that I could bring with me. Don't want to do it if they make it a pain in the butt like some shows. Certainly don't want to have to pay or register as a vendor...
Thanks for the feedback everyone. I haven't pulled the trigger on anything yet. There is a local gun show this weekend that I hope I might find some molds or equipment at, we will see.
I'm really struggling to pick out which bullet profiles to go with. I think 230 grain is the most common...
