What's the name of your store?

Do you think that places like Gander just throw out the guns that they let some handle in the display case? Nope.

The difference being that I trust that Ed's haven't been rotated into the display at some point.

It hasn't, like I've said multiple times. However, he'd be more than justified to raise his prices.

Fine by me. =) I'm willing to pay for better quality.

Then I guess our experiences just disagree. My experience of decades of business with him has never resulted in an unmatched price. You had one bad experience. The years speak for themselves.

He never has marked them up with me, nor with anyone else I've ever talked to. The only place I've ever seen/heard negative comments about Ed is this forum, and having known Ed for a long time, I don't believe any of it. Even if Ed couldn't match prices (although he always has for me), I'd be...

I'd suggest you call him and figure it out for yourself. Ask him about his negotiation policies and see for yourself if he tolerates it.

I really doubt you told him the competition's number over the phone, because he is not the kind of guy who would tell you he could match if he couldn't. Plus, the fact that you would be paying $20-$30 for a gun that is truly new is honestly a bargain. I'd be extremely pleased with that.

This man has it exactly right. Kudos.

I'd be interesting in hearing an example of a smart businessman who isn't interested in making money. In all of the conversations I've had with him, it's always been clear that he doesn't want to negotiate. If you still chose to do so, that's your own problem.

All I can say is that the experiences of my friends and I have only been superb. We are always straightforward with him, and we have never had any problems. I know plenty of people who have been clients of Ed's as long as he's been in business as well, and I've never heard anything negative from...

All this does is prove that Ed is unwilling to work with individuals who want to negotiate prices, which he says from the start. It also shows that you aren't as respectful toward dealers as you say you are, since you didn't immediately disclose your knowledge. Good for Ed for not wanting your...

      Best shop near Fort Wayne?

It's really interesting how the most articulate and intelligent people on this site clearly favor Ed Hirschy. I think the comments of the people who rudely and ignorantly attack him reveal the kind of clients that Ed doesn't want. Hopefully, you fall into the first category and would be a great...

I've bought from Ed for as long as he's been in business, and I can guarantee that as long as you're a gentleman, he will treat you like one. Don't be scared off by complaints about how harsh he can be. He is too successful to screw around with people who want to go back-and-forth on prices. My...
