      The local politicians they've voted for and their families vote for and their friends vote for all are anti gun. It's habit, culture and social convention. They went and bought a handgun or shotgun in June because there was looting and violence near their house or apartment or they saw it on TV...

      This well said but it's even more fundamental than that. Lot's of new, dyed in the blue, Dem gun owners not only don't think of themselves as gun owners, they don't even think of them selves as exercising s right that's under attack -- they're just thinking of personal security and self defense...

      There is no right reason, as long as it's a lawful one. It's a right, just like speech. There is no right or wrong reason for me to exercise the 1A as long as it's lawful, same with 2A.

      Stopped at bass pro yesterday. Ammo limit of 4 boxes / 1 bulk pack (250 rds or more) applied to all ammo including shotshells. Only rimfires on the shelf as 22lr shotshells. No pistol ammo. Handful of obscure rifle cartridges. Shotgun was pretty much all turkey/bird hunting loads in subgauges.

      Blythe's in Valpo had a winchester model 42 on the wall today -- really cool never seen one in the flesh before. Handful of ARs still, including some braced pistols. Most of the handguns are gone and ammo was basically nonexistent. *All the HM2 you could carry, but not a single round of 22lr.

      @marvin02 That was interesting -- growing up in Chicago we always said "Northwest Indiana", "Gary" or "the Dunes." We'd come to the dunes park in the summer a fair bit, but I never heard "da region" before moving here.
