Thanks for the quick reply. I love shooting my 3" 66. In my pistol league at Blythe's I like shooting it for our combart speed drills. I will try to get out there next week also. I miss shooting these kind of matches. Thanks.
I haven't been down to your range for quite a while with gas and ammo/primers being much higher now. I've been mostly shooting local rimfire rifle matches with my buddies. I wasn't sure if you were still having ICORE matches since I didn't see anything posted on INGO. I don't see anything on...
A few years ago I installed a flat trigger on my buddy's 1911. I DID NOT like the feel of that at all. He liked it though, and that's fine. If my finger was flat, the flat trigger might fell ok.
I have several airguns. I never wantd to mess with the PCP guns. My spring guns work fine. Now many have the nitro piston, so you don't need to worry about the pring breaking.
I have a couple that I use for chipmonks. If they are closer than 30 yards, I use a Beeman P-1 pistol with a red dot...
The bull barrel (all steel) Mark IV will not be light like the Lite model. That might be mor to your liking, then all your mags would be the same. You can usually pick Mk IV barrels up from Volquartsen for cheap, as mentioned above.
I like the Rugers. I have several MkII pistols and a Volquartsen Black Mamba (built on a Mk4 frame). I suggest the Mk4. You can also get uppers (FFL is needed to purchase online, since the upper has the serial number) in other configurations. Volquartsen regularly has sales on Ruger Mk4 barrels...
My wife and I have been shooting cowboy action for over 25 years (hence my avatar) and we share a pair of Vaqueros. Never had any issues with them. These are the original design, basically a Blackhawk with iron sights. The new Vaqueros are a little lighter and smaller frame. Size is closer to a...
I bought a P-11 in 1999. It shoots great and I still carry it. I also have a P3AT that I pocket carry in the summer. I looked at the PF9, but liked the feel of the P-11 better.
The Sig P365 got sooo much press when it came out, but the P-11 did that back in 1995. If it was striker-fired...
I have several (at least 6) within 90 miles from me. Look in this forum under Shooting Sports. Many are listed, but several may not be. You may need to search online for clubss near you.
Atlanta Conservation Club may not be real far from you. They have a lot of good matches, from what I can...
I started using a red dot on a pistol back in 1995. At first it was on my bullseye pistols. I also shoot in a local indoor unofficial PPC league and I alternate between guns with red dot then iron sights. I also have pistols and rifles set up for steel challenge too.
My findings are similar to...
I hope they don't decide to come after my 8-shot, high capacty revolvers next. I didn't use purple because this is not really sarcasm. After they try to ban the usual suspects, they will come after shotguns and whatever other "dangerous" guns they find out about.
I remember hearing about an...
You did not mention the distance for your groups.
Is that an original Ruger barrel or aftermarket?
I have not noticed that happening with my rimfire rifles, but rimfire rifles are all different. Condition of bore and ammo lube are major reasons the bore could foul bad enough to degrade...
They work well, especially for revolvers, lever action rifles, and other firearms that cannot easily be cleaned from the breach end. I do prefer the Otis Ripcord for rimfires. I do not like using a brass brush for rimfire guns, but that's a big discussion on it's own.
Maybe a rimless, bottleneck shotshell.
Joking asside, the vast majority of shotgun shooters do not use magazine fed shotguns. It seems like solving an issue for such a small percentage of users would not be something ammo makers would try to tackle. That would be for the mag fed shotgun makers...
Thanks for the concert video. They were my favorite group in high school. Got my 1st album of theirs, Master of Reality, over 50 years ago. Saw them three times by 1975. Nice article too. Had not heard bout the break-in. Cool.
