      WVRPC Snubby Match October 9th

Before I send an email to my league shooters, I want to verify the start time. I see conflicting times listed. Also, you are on Eastern time, correct? Calendar on website shows: Registration 9:00 AM Match 10:00 AM Practiscore shows: Match starts: October 09, 2022 @ 11:00 AM · Match ends...

      Steel Challenge Warsaw 10/1

It's been a while, but I'm signed up for this Saturday. I'm bringing a couple other shooteres too. Looking forward to shooting there. You always have a good match.

      I wanna wheel gun!

All you revolver shooters here, check out the Wildcat Valley Snubby match on October 9th. Snub-nose revolvers w/ 3" or less barrels. The 686 is too heavy for their stated limit, but my 3" 66 will be fun to shoot. Bring out your snubbies and join the fun. The scoring is set up to favor 5-shot...

      WVRPC Snubby Match October 9th

No limits on pistols or ammo. Many are using 22lr now with the ammo situation. We shoot from a holster most of the time, but if people are not comfortable, they can ease into that part. We shoot in many different positions too; one handed (strong and weak hand), from the hip, two hands...

      WVRPC Snubby Match October 9th

I'm in NWI and I like going down to Wildcat Valley (Brookston). It's not a bad drive. You should try to make it. They put on great ICORE (revolver) matches. Also, I run a pistol league at the Valpo Blythe's on Tuesday nights, We just started a few weeks ago. Check it out sometime, if you'd...

      WVRPC Snubby Match October 9th

I made sure my 3" S&W 66 is sighted in. I'm ready. Can't wait for the fun to begin.

      Revolvers

I have a 3" 686+ in my headboard. Nice gun, but I really like my 3" 66 w/ combat grips. Shoots great. In fact, I will shoot the 66 October 9th at Wildcat Valley for their ICORE Snubby match. Snub-nose revolvers w/ 3" or less barrels. The 686 is too heavy for their stated limit, but the 66 will...

      9mm revolvers

In this case, it would only apply to USPSA matches. IDPA hates revolvers and does not allow any w/ > 4.25" barrel. ICORE and Bianchi Cup have a PF of 120, so there is no need for major loads for those matches. Nothing else I know of requires PF.

      9mm revolvers

It is built on the Ruger Redhawk. That takes the hottest 44 mag loads. I would think 9mm major loads should be fine. Why would you do that, though?

      9mm revolvers

The long cases of the 38 and .357 do not load really quickly into the cylinder. Shorter cases do. I can reload my S&W 625 (45ACP w/ moon clips) as fast as I can reload my 1911s in practice. For competions, I can see a benifit reloading on the clock with the 9mm. It will load much quicker.

      9mm revolvers

For the 627 (38/.357 8-shot N-Frame) the rimmed cases (38& .357) are placed into the moon clips. They do not need to be, but the moon clipped rounds do not require a speed loader and they keep your brass together after you dump the brass from the cylinder.

      9mm revolvers

My 627s shoot a rimmed cartridge, but they still benefit from the addition to moon clips. Maybe not for everyone, but for match shooting that is a big plus.

      9mm revolvers

I think the moon clip issue is more related to the 7-shot clips. I had a custom 686 in 7-shot, cut for moon clips. My buddy had it built by S&W before they had 686s with 7 rounds. They were hard to load. I think it was due to the smaller circumference crowding more rounds than anything else. I...

      9mm revolvers

While the 929 is nice, my 627s are similar but in 38/.357, the early models had some issues. I think they were with bore diameter, but I could be off. Just something to look into. Either the 929 or the Ruger Super GP100 Competition would be good choices for match/range guns. Pick whick one feels...

      9mm revolvers

Not extra work the way I see it. When I shoot a match, I can load more than enough moon clips for the entire match. Other guys are loading mags and I'm just relaxing, and BSing with other shooters. Also, the brass comes out in a nice bunch. Much easier to pick up brass in the moon clips than...

      Air gun competition.

Marion County Fish and Game used to shoot airgun silhouette, I tried it there years ago. Looking at their website, I do not see that listed any more. I thought field target would be fun, but never found a place to shoot it.

      Air gun competition.

I think that's why silhouette died out along with other precision events. Now they want to shoot really fast and occasionally hit a target.

      9mm revolvers

You may like the Ruger Super GP100 Competition in 9mm. It's not a carry gun, but for range and competition it should be great. It's an 8-shot revolver built on the Ruger Redhawk frame. When it came out I thought it might be cool to have, but I have three S&W 8-shot revolvers in 38/.357 so it...

      Sig p365xl trigger kit

I have a P365. The trigger is very good. I will not be upgrading. I do all kinds of mods on my competition guns, but not my carry guns.
