If you are not going to carry and just want a gun for home, you may want a full-sized pistol rather than the P365. Don't get me wrong, they are great guns. I have one and they shoot great, but why pick a compct gun made for concealed carry when a small gun is not needed and a larger gun may be...
I know some people do not like cats, but they are not cooking them properly.
Seriously, I live in the country and and I like to shoot pests too. Racoons get 22LR, but chipmonks get it with an airgun. I love hunting chipmonks. My best shot was 75 yards with my R-11 air rifle. Not pertanant, I...
R & Z Targets is out of Bourbon, IN. I've bought paper and steel targets from him. Years ago he cut some steel IHMSA silhouette targets for our club near Knox. He's a pretty good guy and his targets are nice. He is always at the Valpo gun show. I do not think he has a Texas Star though...
That's great to hear. I sent my pistol league the info. Some of the shooters were asking about your match. Not sure I can make it this month, but I will be at some of your matches, for sure.
I got a couple 28 gauge shotguns because I loved shooting my buddy's 28 gauge Merkel SxS. Nice, light guns that are fun to shoot. Fun gun for skeet. Never hunted with mine, but should be nice and light in the field.
They did not come from out of the blue. They have been around since 1903...
Sorry, but I don't understand that line of thinking. I go about these decisions a different way. I look at a type of shooting I would like to do, and determine the best gun/cartridge combo, or maybe one I would like most, to determine the cartridge for that specific sport.
I always wanted...
Just switching the primer can change the pressure of a load. I have seen articles that show how sometimes the increase can be pretty high. I don't have those articles now, but I suggest you try searching on the topic before going 'off book' with reloading shotshells. In 41 years of loading, I...
I am right-handed, but in 2020 I tore my right biceps and needed 2 surgeries. For several months I could only use my left hand for everything. That's the hard way to become abmbidextrous. When I went back to shooting, I used my left hand for a while. I have been shooting gunfigher style (SA...
At one point I reloaded 26 different cartridges, each cartridge had multiple loads depending on the gun and the purpose. A total of 87 different loads. I have 14 different loads for 38 Special alone. I don't load some cartridges much anymore since I don't shoot them very often, but it's good...
I use an Access database to record my guns and airguns. An Excel spreadsheet to record my load data, chronograph results, primer & bullet inventory, best performing 22lr ammo for each rimfire gun, OAL measurements for bottleneck cartridges, slugged barrel dimensions, etc.
I don't think a...
What would cause powder to not light or light erratically is if it got contaminated. I have seen this happen at a silhouette match years ago. The guy used too much lube on the bottleneck case and it sounded weird when it fired. The powder came out of the case in clumps, but I believe the bullet...
I think that was the September show. They were both on the same weekend. Not sure why. Don't know why the chose CP over Valpo. I was at the Valpo show with some friends that had tables.
Though I'm not really a hunter (I have hunted, but I prefer target shooting), You should be able to get better groups with a red dot at 50 yards. When I test my 22LR bullseye pistols wearing red dots, the ammo that works best gives me under 7/8" groups at 50 yards. I have been using a red dot on...
I met Tom Gaylord at an airgun show in St Louis years ago. Got a signed book from him about the Beeman R1. He is a great wealth of knowledge on airguns. There are tons of great articles by him in his BLOG on Pyramid Air.
It is not very clear that it is a 12-part article. Here is part 12 with all the other links, just in case you missed them.

I have that same air pistol, imported as the Beeman P-1. I read somewhere years ago that shooting on low power isn't that good for the seal. I believe that's what I read, but that was 20 years ago or more. I rarely shoot it on low.
I mounted a red dot on mine and regularly dispatch chipmunks...
My dad had one of the earlier SCCY pistols. It had feeding issues from day one. I polished the feed ramp for him, but I don't think he ever shot it after I did the polish job. Not sure if that fixed the feeding problems.
I did not like it compared to my Kel Tec P11. SCCY has changed since then...
