I've been curious about these for a while now but it seems they have an ongoing issue with ejection and accuracy is sub par. I have several thousand rounds of .308 but no rifle chambered in the caliber so I'm always in the market. I would have been sold on the DPMS G2 bit with the changes, parts...
You would be correct in that assumption. I am not a gunsmith, operating a business. So the vast majority of rifles I work on are my own builds, and repairs to the tifles of my friends and co-workers. None of which feel the need or desire to spend $900-$1000 on a rifle they have JIC for home...
Purse always stays in the Jeep. She's not really a purse kinda Gal but "on the body" or not at all is the order of the day around here. We agree on that at least.
I don't typically consider chrome lining. When I buy ammo, it's typically from box stores like Rural King and Walmart. Red Army Standard, Wolf, --- Bear, etc., none of it's corrosive, and as many ARs i've built, worked on, and been around-I don't see a lot of chrome lining there, either. I know...
Well how else do you see through the tube without the sun blinding you? Make sure you have a perfect seal around your eye before you bang that boom switch.
Always assume the gun is loaded, until you've ensured it isn't. Funny how that second part is always left out, but without it, you'd never be able to handle or view a weapon. If indeed there were people on the other side of the wall, I don't see why he couldn't demonstrate with a similar piece...
PST is variable zoom. This either 1x or 4x, presumably (if it's like the Elcan Spectre DS) with a simple flip switch. As OP stated, you don't need to adjust your eye relief. Nor would you spend time adjusting the zoom. For whatever that's worth on a 1-4.
Copper customs is right next to Definitive Arms, right? I used to check Atlantic for 4150s in stock but I lost interest after a few months. Anybody know if you can just drop in on them? Like if they have a store front or is it just a plant? I think those were going for $1k at the time...
Hell I wish I would have thought to record the build i'm working on now. It should be my best 1911 yet. I get into what I'm doing and forget to do the pictures and notes. Then I'm too lazy to post it anywhere people actually care. You sir, are multi-talented. Cheers.
I get the hesitation. Folks don't realize how easy it is to build and a rifle gone wrong is a terrifying prospect.
I agree with Slim that the vast majority of budget, entry levels are the same. You're paying for a rollmark in that price range. The parts may not be from the same people, but...
Generally, I'd say lighter. I don't think there's much to be done to lighten an ak47 up. But what do you mean by "holds up better to rapid fire?" Standard deformation that reverts to normal when you stop firing, or does it actually begin to warp the receiver and shake rivets loose over a time...
I let potential buyers shoot it before they make a decision. And if there's an issue down the road, I'll look at it for them. I don't necessarily warranty my work, as i'm not a business, but if something came loose I'm happy to fond the issue and tighten it down. If they're not builders...
Yeah I can imagine being 5'9" and 150lb, dropping the hammer on one of those things would bowl me over ass over applecart. Not a fan of the rail either. But my mind will formulate any excuse to have one. I watch a lot of westerns. John Wayne was a suitable surrogate for me own Da when he was...
