i built both of my benches. reloading bench on the left was built 25 years ago, 2X4 & 4X4 construction. at the time it was cheaper to build it myself. bench on the right was built using leftover/scrap lumber. vertical gun rack was also built from scrap/leftover wood i had laying around.
picked up a used ruger PC carbine,
picked up 1700 rds of 22LR, 100rds of 9mm
placed an order with midway USA for mags for the PCC and glock 27, 40sw ammo, competition belt and mag carriers
ordered some PC carbine stuff from tandemkross
this is sasha. our 3rd rescue. she was in a kill shelter in texas when we found her. she was 5-6 months old, and very stittish around everyone. she's fine around us, an excellent watch dog, but really doesnt like anyone else.
I see it every day on the road. I cover 30K miles a year in nwi and the Chicagoland area in a 20K lb service truck working on const equipment. Not a day goes by that I don't get hit by some asshat
i run aguila HV 40gr in both my MK IV 22/45's for steel with one exception, the ammo is "waxy" and dont function with a damn below 40F. in colder temps i use blazer HV. my 10-22 gets fed fed automatch, 15-22 gets automatch or CCI AR tactical (depends on what i have more of sitting on the shelf)
I look for the most reliable/ consistent/ cost for my steel shooting. Fed automatch, cci AR tactical for my 10-22 & 15/22 rifles. Aguila hv and blazer hv for both mkiv 22/45s. Use varies due to what's on my shelf.
i started shooting a dot back in '95 on a 1911 45acp for USPSA open. still have that same dot on the gun. 4 years ago i started shooting steel challenge and rimfire challenge, both new guns got a TRUGLO dot put on them. i mainly used the 3MOA/30MOA circle reticle. last year i switched over to...
ive shot a lot of different matches over the past 30 years. IMO steel challenge is probably the best starting point. it takes the least amount of "gear" to get started. a 22LR pistol or rifle, a secure bag/case/box, 5 magazines and some reliable ammo.
this is my typical steel challenge match...
