Texas just threw down the gauntlet.

Big college towns are usually like that. Just saw a map of Illinois that showed the counties that would/would not enforce the state "assault weapon ban." Cook and a couple adjacent counties which was to be expected would enforce. The only other county was Champaign where the university of...

Texas just threw down the gauntlet.

Years ago on "Frasier" they did a show where he and his brother Niles bought a restaurant. He walks into the kitchen and announces that everything must be extra special because there is IIRC a Senator and the head of immigrations in the restaurant. All the kitchen help ran out the back door...

      LED Camp lantern

I also like my Coleman white gas lanterns and have two I use when camping or wiener roasts. Not quite as handy as hitting a switch but I also love the sound and no problem with running batteries down in a power outage. I am also fond of the white gas stoves and have two. Jim.

"In Common Use" Ownership and Sales Numbers as of 2021

But the lard gut governor from illinois says 29,000 people registering their assualt weapons is a good percentage of those owning them. The 2,400,000 foid card holders actually own very few so AR's and AK's are not in common use in that state. Seems to me he is either a fat liar or as stupid...

POLITICAL pictures - Funny (unlikely), Sad (more likely) Infuriating (most likely)

In "Lonesome Dove" when Capt. Call and Gus go looking for a new cook he hands them a bowl of grasshoppers. Call spit it out and Gus thought it was tasty. That is if my memory serves me correctly. Good reason to watch it again and again. Jim.

      photos and your property.

Just checked my county map, Vermillion and it ha been recently updated. It now shows our house we put up and moved into March 14 2020 instead of the former vacant lot. A long time resident friend of mine told me the Zoning Commission lady checks those maps for construction done by property...

      Thoughts on Apple Watch?

I have no real first hand knowledge of these but my wife got one about 2 years ago. She upgraded her Apple/Verizon I phone then and got a watch to go with it. Used it a couple months and that was it. Took it off her plan and threw it in a drawer never to be seen again. Her biggest complaint...

      Ok, so what now....

Early 2000's I worked with an industrial electrician who ha retired from a company with 30 and out with a good monthly retirement. But the benifit went down by what his SS would be when he hit 62. He watched his pay all spring and the day he would have went over his SS limit he drove up to the...

      USPSA clubs are revolting!

To part of what "Gunmetalgray" said, I have never shot USPSA been shooting IDPA and a member for around 20 years. From that background I know IDPA requires a shooter to join after three matches. I know ACC sticks to this policy, however some other clubs I shoot at do not enforce it. From the...

Funny Political Picture/Video Thread Part 9** The other side is still making it easy!

Hopefully it will not come to that in my lifetime. Jim.

      U-Turns, Ugh...

A year or so ago they had the Indiana 63 bridge shut down on the north end of Terre Haute. You had to go north on US 41 to the first light and make a "U" turn, this is on 4 lane road. Jim.

Is it for real or is it snake oil?

Just thinking, why doesn't FB fact check this crap? Heaven knows they fact check me often enough. Jim.

Is it for real or is it snake oil?

Back from the dead with the thread, wife ordered one then told me about it. She went to the credit card company to dispute the charge and ended up having to cancel the card and get a new one to get rid of the charge. I just saw another scam on facebook, pellet stoves for $59.00 supposedly...

      Bussing illegals to the libs

An alderman in Chicago proposed a "non-binding advisory" question on the next city wide ballot asking if the city should end the sanctuary city status. It got voted down something like 60 to 10. Jim.

Is anyone actually selling Mosin rifles for $450 plus?

I have two 91/30's one M38 and one M44, the last one I bought was one of the 91/30's for $72.25 to the door. The M38 and one of the 91/30's were built during the war and one 91/30 was pre-wartime. The M44 was built in 1948. The pre-war and post-war builds are nice quality, especially the M44...

Illinois High Capacity Mag & Firearm Ban

Not really unexpected, from what I have read the USSC very rarely gets involved in interlocutory cases. I just found out what that word meant in the last week or so. It means the case is not yet settled, no final decision has been made by the lower court. Once the final decision is made I am...

Oops, all U.S. banks closed. Electrical Grid Down. Watcha Gonna Do???

My house I left when I moved to Indiana was natural gas hot water baseboard heat which was nice. I wired the furnace so I could hook up an inverter and run it off a 12 volt battery. Don't know how long it would run like that but did try it for about an hour and it ran fine. Our new house is...

Hunter Biden Indicted on Federal Gun Charges

Well we do seem to have a differing opinion here. Don't know for sure but have a feeling he won't last long and I am sure I won't miss him. Jim.
