I have built many AR rifles, and have yet to find a bad lower receiver. If the lower is mil-spec then you will be fine. Good luck and I hope you enjoy your new rifle.

There are several manufacturers that make a replacement charging handle latch. As mentioned earlier Badger mfg, is one. The replacement latches allow charging access to the left side of the charging handle. To replace the latch, one drives out the rolll pin, remove the latch and spring...
I own a Gunshop in Southern Indiana, and we are listed on Gunbroker. We have sold a few items and our prices have been competitive with what we sell in the shop. When pricing we try to consider freight, and CC charges. Our preference for payment is a money order to eliminate all the extra...
I support your position and the right to open carry here in Indiana. However, I always carry concealed. I never want anyone to know I am carrying. If I ever need to use the weapon I want it to be a surprise.

I always anneal the case necks by standing the cases in a small metal container filled with an inch of water. I heat the case necks with a propane torch till orange then tip them over in the water. Annealing makes the brass more flexible and gives you less split necks when trying to open the...
"If those numbers sound the same to you then I guess "A 223 will do anything a 22-250 will do and more"."
If you are talking velocity that's one thing but killing power and flat shooting is close.

A 223 will do anything a 22-250 will do and more. One can get a 223 in a faster twist barrel to allow shooting heavier bullets, as mentioned surplus ammunition, cheaper ammunition, the use of thicker military brass if you reload, and more ballistic data.

I shoot a lot of benchrest, and clearing the flash hole is an important. In fact, clearing it on Lapua brass is important too. Some of the Lapua brass has some irregularities....even being the best.

You may already know this stuff, but I will touch just the high points. Mosin(pronounced Mo Seen) was a Russian Col, He designed the rifle, and Nagant was a Belgian, he designed the magazine. The first rifle was made in 1891 and it was identified by that date. The rear sight on these old ones...
I forgot about the 223WSM. Handloading is another story...a local gunsmith is shooting a 243win with a 55gr Nosler bullet getting 4800fps. He pretty much destroys coyotes.

I know the 204 Ruger is faster. One can reload other cartridges faster, but I don't recall another manufactered cartridge. Other members may know additional cartridges.

Hornady is making 6.5 Jap, and 7.65 argentine. I know Graf and Sons sells brass for these two, and I believe they sell manufactured ammunition too.

Purchasing a Lyman reloading manual is good advice...it has a good description of the reloading process. I do find it somewhat limited in choice of bullets, but I normally seek a specific load. I find myself using the Sierra manual the most due to the bullets I use. The Sierra manual seems to...
All the suggestions from others are on target. Additionally, it's important to determine if your dies are carbide...carbide dies do not require lube...standard dies require lube. I use cartridge gauges to check dimensions. It's a "machined tube" that is created for a specific cartridge. You...
