Which .22 LR for the wife?

Beginning with the 22 is a good starting position. The 22 is a good training pistol. Learn to shoot with something mild. IMO, progress to a 45, then 9mm and then a 40 caliber.

      .45 ammo HP's or FMJ

I use hard ball for target practice but always load hollow points for self defense. I always run the hollow points through my SD weapon to be sure the perform as expected.

I finally got to shoot a little bit

Shooting is very relaxing. I get out once a month by myself and once a month with my twin brother. My neighbor is an excellent shooter and an even better teacher so I try to get out with him occasionally. I am retired so I may need a part time to pay for ammo. :)

How do you store your defensive semi-auto pistol?

I keep mine on my night stand fully loaded with one in the chamber when I sleep. I have a 160 lumen light and laser on it. I also keep a loaded 12 gauge in the bedroom. BTW, I am the only person in my house.

      Hi Everyone

Hi all. I recently (Sept 1910) purchased my first hand gun and three more and a rifle. I hadn't fired a weapon since my Navy days in the mid 60s. I am recently retired and I am enjoying the time at the range. I hope I can enjoy this forum.
