Okay I have it nailed down now. I will be bringing the following guns:
Smith & Wesson MP15 .300 whisper
Remington 770 7mm
Sig Sauer P238 .380
Ruger 10/22
Just purchased the big toys today and ready to play :-)
I'd be happy to help with whatever is needed. I could bring a box of foam earplugs for the kids and see if I can get some safety glasses donated.
I have to 10/22s, one with a scope. My son is a Cub/Boy scout now and would love to participate.
This one I will make. "Pinky promise". I have just the Sig Sauer .380, Ruger 10/22, and a future rifle purchase before then. Tactical cookies as well. Nothing will stop me from coming to this one :-)
Okay tactical cookies are coming along with some brownies I am pretty sure Jedi requested after the last meet and shoot I went too.
BTW Jedi, my son and I just went to Legoland and loaded up on 5 new Star Wars Lego sets. I got the new R2D2 set and it rocks.
I think it's time to introduce my son to a meet and shoot and to become re-acquainted with it myself. I had too much fun last time.
So in attendance, it will be myself and my son Clay (7 yrs old).
I will bring my Sig P238 and his Ruger 10/22, both with ammo.
He wasn't too comfortable...
I purchased my Sig at Midwest Gun Exchange in Mishawaka, Indiana. I have probably put around 400 rounds through it so far without any problems. She never leaves my side.
The picture is of my friend Brad and Clay. I didn't have an opportunity to have my picture taken with him as I was making sure he followed through with being safe.
Thank you everyone for your concern. My son and I both have both eyes intact and everyone is doing well.
Clay's first shots...
Thank you everyone very much for all the great advice. Of coarse gun safety is the foremost important issue here and I will make sure that is instilled into him before he ever puts a finger on the trigger.
I have read a few articles from Mr. Ayoob and found his viewpoint very informative...
So, after seeing my son pick up every stick in the woods that resembled a gun and create these amazing adventures in his head, I decided to get him his own rifle. I bought the Ruger 10/22 based on a friend's good advice and knowledge of the gun and because of the small caliber.
With my son's...
I am going to have to pull out of this event. I forgot I have a Roller Derby bout against a team from Wisconsin that day. If anyone is interested in that then look up the South Bend Roller Girls :-) We play in Mishawaka.
I carry the Sig Sauer P238 and it's a beautiful gun. I have put around 200 rounds through it and not once had it misfire. Its small and easy to carry with the holster provided and is very reliable. This gun is my everyday carry. I also use a Bianchi Colt Mustang belt loop holster for it and they...
