I have some new Caterpillar boots that felt great yesterday but today are rubbing my heels pretty badly. I've completely soaked them in water and am wearing them to break them in faster. Is this a good method? What do you guys do with a new pair of boots to break them in?
Take a super coarse stell scrubber and gently rub in a circular pattern to remove rust without harming the original bluing. We did a Sharps rifle and a Springfield Trapdoor like that at the shop. They turned out great. But the keyword is gentle. Too forceful and you will scratch off bluing.
