      Morning Coffee...

Have been on the bean daily since '64 . . . any brand as long as the C8H10N4O2 molecule present . . . horrific headaches if not consumed by sundown . . . preferrably fresh whole beans through the grinder . . . but have been known to crunch those suckers up orally in a pinch!!!! Will go out of...

      Cell Phones Questions

Have messed with Sprint, ATT and Verizon. While definitely not cheaper, Verizon works best for me in the IND-FLA corridor. Only complaint is the occasional 'parking' of phone calls, i.e. incoming calls get sent to voicemail at peak hours - my guess is that the network traffic handling gets...

      Thoughts on Palin?

Sarah Palin is high profile, and attracts criticism like a lightning rod. Working under the premise "There's no such thing as bad publicity", by 2012 she'll be unstoppable. I'd like to see a Palin/Paul (Rand) ticket myself . . . but have yet to see anything like an elected politician actually...

Any one reloading black powder cartridges?

I've tried my hand at reloading 10 gauge brass with Goex black powder a few times, with mixed results (about 50% on target). Found pretty good info here: Black Powder Shotgun Shells but, like any skill, i suppose practice makes perfect . . . just be sure of those Belgian proofs before you...

      Any Free Masons on INGO?

tryfreemasonry. c o m has a bit of information in regards the fraternity . . . not to solicit (still not allowed) members, but if any of you are interested, will try to counsel you if asked. Am involved with Cumberland 726 (refugees at Oakland 140, presently) and dabble with the York Rite at...

      QRZ - Fellow Ham Operators

Crummy electrolytic filter capacitors (high equivalent series resistance) rampant in these charger cubes . . . glorified noise makers, in my opinion. Good linear power supply plus current limiting circuitry works better, if you've got the time to monkey therewith - W9DAG

      INGO CPR TRAINING 2-27-10

I'm overdue for a refresher on this. Will try to attend if possible; but fill the available slots up with medical personnel first . . . i don't want to take someone else's spot.

      Got My First GPS...

if you've got plenty of time and don't mind the mishaps incident to hiking in misc. bad terrains, you might try geocaching (.com) with said GPS. Glorified hide and seek, but good way to shake down the receiver, get some fresh air, and see the sites . . .
