That was my thought exactly. I get reloading for range ammo. I mean I don't do it, but I understand the benefit. But unless you're routinely shooting your SD ammo on the range I don't see the benefit of using reloads. I've purchased exactly 60 rounds of SD ammo and unless I'm confronted with a...
Heck, I got accused a while back of chasing 50 so I could get to the classifieds. I didn't even know there were classifieds at the time, and I'm not interested anyway. Apparently all newbies get accused of this.
There is also a difference between being charged with a crime, and not charged with a crime. Tens of thousands, even hundreds of thousand dollars. Just for me, the point is taken. Why not just use factory ammo for SD and remove that variable? I don't see much reward for using self-loaded ammo in...
It was in Red Dawn (and The Longest Day) but they actually were Allied code phrases from Operation Overlord...D-Day:
"Wound My Heart With Monotonous Languor"
"John Has A Long Mustache"
"The Chair Is Against The Wall"
I for one thank god that this situation that I was totally unaware of and still don't understand turned out not to be an issue at all. I'm very relieved.
Not sure i could bring myself to do it, at least not around here. I already think everyone is looking at me when I CC, which of course they're not.
I've been actively watching for OC for the last 3 months and I've yet to see anyone, even in WalMart. And I look constantly.
Excellent points. I was thinking along those same lines with regards to the "Zombie" ammo in particular but you articulated it far more effectively that I could have. The truth and facts are what they are but it's how those things can be made to appear to others that really matters, not how they...
Well, I don't own a .22, nor do I have $20,000 to spend on ammo, but if I did would you sell all 275,000 rounds to me for $20K? With free shipping?
Not sure if the OP will be back around. Seems like he kinda got run off in another thread where he dared to disagree with the INGO general line of thought. We'll see.
Hope he sticks around.
5 to 15 yards for 90% of real practice. Usually a few at further than 15 yards, but not very many. Seems to me that in a defensive situation we'd be talking a few feet to a few yards. At >15 yards out I'd be running, not shooting. Hard to envision a scenario where I'd be shooting at bad guys...
I have no particular wisdom to add but figured that I'd chime in as a new carrier myself (three weeks maybe?). I do chamber a round. I don't carry all the time (for instance to and from work) but if I'm out and about I have been. I have only CC'd so I have no experience with being questioned by...
A wise instructor likened it to looking both ways before you cross the street. Doesn't matter if you looked 30 seconds ago, or two minutes ago. You always look just before you cross. No exceptions.
This weekend the Apple Glen WalMart in Fort Wayne had 100 round containers of BrassMax for $23. That's pretty good. I bought three. There were 4 or 5 left but I'm pretty sure they didn't last the day.
That's what I was thinking. I know very few men who have NEVER accidentally (*cough*) found themselves looking at a few nude women (or men, if that's your thing) in the Internet. Not me, of course, but most of the rest of you for sure.
Sounds like this may have been something worse though. :noway:
