What happened to my favorite gun store??

+1 For Bradis. The team there has always been friendly and helpful. The only problem I've experienced -- Camby is too far away from my daytime, weekday location to allow for a lunchtime visit. For those on the list that are close enough to make a trip during the day - you are fortunate.

      Atterbury range update

Agreed - safety violations are not unique to public ranges. I basically try for very odd times in hopes of having our small club range all to myself. Some guys from work have gone to Atterbury after the upgrades and have enjoyed their visit. My understanding is there is still no rifle range...

Thanks for the post. Will there be some good deals? or is this just a show-n-tell?

What's up with kids nowadays ?

I can relate ... mine look right past the 22's and focus on the Wilson's on the top shelf. However, once they got some range time on the single six and the charger 10-22s - they fell in love with them. Now the next problem -- I can't keep them loaded fast enough to stay up with them. Even...

Passenger stopped with gun at Indy airport

This all confuses me ... I completely understand at and past the TSA security screening zone. Prior to that security screening point, I'm confused. I'll have to pay attention on my next trip to locate these signs referenced. This is all good to know as I have a trip at end of August where I...

Dan Coats Voted for the Brady Bill and the "Assault Weapons" Ban

Chizzle - you have summarized it very nicely. Coats has disqualified himself from my consideration at the ballot box. We need to move forward and support new individuals that support our rights, values, and principles. Coats is not that person. Good post.

      Almost Scary Incident Tonight

Two thoughts ... of possible responses to her initial question. (1) Maam, the authorities have been called and will be here shortly to investigate this abandoned child that wondered into my home. (2) Is she distracting me and her dirtbag companion is doing something at one of my windows or...

Transporting a handgun without a license. OFFICIAL!!!!!!

Here's another twist to this ... What if you are out of state ... a non resident here to hunt whitetails with your Ruger SuperRedhawk 44Mag and your state does not have a hunting and target permit? Does IN honor or reciprocate your home state and not require you to have a carry permit or...

Two to the chest and one to the head..blah, blah, blah

Interesting discussion point. To make sure I understand the blah blah blah ... I've been taught the failure drill and repeat it regularly at the practice range to maintain proficiency. If/when the first two shots to the chest have not yielded the desired compliance (for whatever reasons, body...

Guy asked to see my gun today

Thank you for sharing this experience. Keeping your pistol holstered was the most responsible and SAFE choice. You are to be commended. I will remember your example if/when I'm ever approached. I think I worry too much about concealment for just this same reason - whether they would be...

      LOOKING FOR "IDEAL" IWB. HOLSTER.

I have a IWB Don Hume and it works well between my belt and all the parts of me that hang over my belt. I switched from a Glock to a 1911 about a year ago and was struggling with the Don Humes ... then I switched to the Milt Sparks Summer Special 2 and a VM-2 ... love them both, but note I'm...

      Current LTCH Wait

I was amazed at the turn around time on my Indiana Lifetime. I was on my second limited carry permit with about a month left, when I applied with the new online interface on Monday afternoon. I thought for sure I'd have a gap to deal with. I opted for the electronic finger print option on...

      1911 Newbie Needs Advice

I began my 1911 journey about a year ago. I was very fortunate to be around some experienced individuals that have taken me under their coaching and guidance. If you have not already, I would suggest that you attend a few USPSA or IDPA shoots in your area and I would be surprised if one or...
