Quick fun project: My new strong mount

bronko, Here's a pretty rough drawing of the unit's measurements As for the mounts' I believe the answer is yes, I had tried to copy the SQD mount somewhat adding size to the top plate to accommodation the larger press 's footprint. My intention is to make a bullet tray and add that on (I...

Quick fun project: My new strong mount

My reloading table is somewhat low, so a long time ago I had ordered a strong mount for my Dillon Square deal press. The strong mount gave me the height I needed and It works just fine. Anyway I recently ordered a RL550 press from Dillon, while ordering I figured I would get a Strong mount...

      Practice with .22. 9mm or .45 ?

D.T.O.M. is spot on with his advise! 22's are an excellent way to work on pistol handling and drills without exhausting more expensive handgun fodder.

The elusive high-capacity, 30 round CLIP

That's pretty cool, hadn't come across something like that before. Its definitely different then the Type 92 or the French Hotchkiss feeder strips and the Springfield M1903 Air Service had a 25 rd mag so I don't think it was meant for that. Just speculating.... it could of been made for...

      Carrying without a safety engaged

The majority of the handguns I carry do not have external mechanical safeties. However I might grab one that does from time to time depending on weather & clothing . Needless to say I prefer not use a mechanical safety so as not to cause any confusion regardless of weapon. I always train with...

Virginia woman buys 31 guns in two weeks.

Woodrow, Your right the laws here in VA are very nice indeed. I say that for I can only compare them to New York state where I grew up. Here in VA you can open carry without permit. If you want a CCW , You can take your pistol safety course, obtain your application at your local LEO ,fill...

What is your Favorite ''Old" gun?

Not the oldest firearm I have but I love my Remington 03A3. It was my very first rifle, I brought it when I turned 16 for 250 dollars that I saved up from odd jobs over over the summer break (Pictured between the Tokarev SVT38 and the Enfield no4 mk1)

      What guns do you collect?

I had an O3 FFL for curios & relic, but I let it lapse last year :( I laid them out as I was doing my serial number audit and my younger son said dad that would make a nice picture, so I agreed with him. He wanted to take a pic of the stuff in the other safe but I told him the other safe...

      .40 or 9mm?

Consider what the others forum members have said… I' agree with their views and I often recommend choosing a 40S&W platform as a first gun as well. Most firearms manufactures (not all) who offer a pistol in 40S&W and .357Sig typically have a following of aftermarket conversion barrels that are...

mini 14 wood stock scratches help!

Colt556 hit it on the head, I had used steaming method many, many times with great results. keep in mind some finishes may appear to haze up if you steam an area too long so work the effected area in moderation.
