      S&W service 6-8 weeks

Update: Received the M&P back from customer service today. The front sight was repaired or replaced, no information regarding repair action taken, and it is off center. I'm currently listening to 20 second loop of big band jazz waiting for a customer care representative to pick up. 24 minutes...

      S&W service 6-8 weeks

If my sights weren't night sights I would have done the same.

      S&W service 6-8 weeks

I feel I should update after complaining about a 6-8 week turn-around estimate by S&W. I just received notice the firearm will be delivered this week which is actually quite good in my opinion considering this period includes a 2 week shutdown. Total time including the wait for a label will...

Looking for a gunsmith to install sights on a Walther PPQ

My PPQ now has night sights. Can't say it was easy but with a little fitting, a lot of hammering they are on.

Looking for a gunsmith to install sights on a Walther PPQ

SmokinSigs - Did you install those to the PPS or PPQ? Not sure it would be more difficult but the dovetail may be different with the PPQ's windage adjustment well and knowing that S&W had problems installing this type of sight on the FE model. Hoping I am other thinking this but like to know for...

Looking for a gunsmith to install sights on a Walther PPQ

Hey everyone, I want to install a set of Meprolight 18802 night sights on my PPQ. These will replace the stock plastic sights with the windage adjustment on the rear with PPS style which has the roll pin requiring a compression fit. I considered installing these myself with a hammer and punch...

      S&W service 6-8 weeks

If I remember correctly it was about $600 last summer.

      S&W service 6-8 weeks

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but S&W sales are only up 12% at mid year. If wouldn't be a herculean task to increase the service department by this rate but it is my contention they are not going to. Why? Profit and greed. Also by not supporting Walther any longer they should be...

      S&W service 6-8 weeks

I have the Pro FS thinking that the night sights alone would be worth the $100 premium over the basic model. Using hind sight I should have purchased the lower priced model and put in an Apex package and after market night sights. Common wisdom indicated this route but I'm in an area with...

      S&W service 6-8 weeks

And record profits are pouring in. With a little advertising it would be little problem for S&W to attract trained armorers. I believe we make too many excuses for companies whose business model is to dissuade customers from using their service departments with long waiting times. I sent a...

      S&W service 6-8 weeks

I called to confirm the long delay with S&W sadly it is what it is. One reason for the delay is the factory closing for 2 weeks with today being their last day. I returned a Kahr for service recently and the turn-around was 9 days.

      S&W service 6-8 weeks

Front night sight halo fell off on a M&P9 while at the range 3 days ago. Emailed Smith & Wesson and 3 days later I receive a response requesting the firearm be returned for service for a turn-around-time of 6 to 8 weeks. This isn't a safe queen and I was planning to use it in a class...

      "Pocket" 9mm Sig 938, Beretta Nano, Kahr CM9 ?

If after considering features and ergonomics of each you are still on the fence Kahr's great customer service should win you over. Never know when one might need it.

      Any Walther PPQ Owners Here?

I have two Walthers including the M2 9mm and both are good quality handguns. The ergonomics and trigger of the PPQ are top notch IMO. For those lamenting the changed mag release Walther has announced reintroduction of the Original to the US market in early 2014.

Adequate time for an FFl to complete a transfer?

I live in a small town that doesn't have an LGS, woeful but true. I hate having to drive to a neighboring town to do a transfer so I picked a local FFL whom I have not met. My firearm arrived Friday about 4:30 PM but never heard from the FFL. I'm trying to be patient so a waited til Saturday...
