I'm thinking I'll try Brownell's Aluma-Hyde soon on a slightly pitted P3AT slide. Both the gun and the spray can need to be heated for best results, but a $5 thrift shop toaster oven beats a more expensive spray gun like you'd need for Cerakote. I have read on ARFCOM that Aluma-Hyde, when...
Wow... Thanks for the tip! I never paid much attention to them because I never saw anything on the site that grabbed me, but I never thought that was because everything sold by email first. I'll be sure to get on their email list, thanks!
I haven't been to their store, but I have purchased from them at a show before. They were very prompt and helpful even though they were swamped, and at every show since they've mostly had the best prices at the show on new handguns. I'd happily buy from them again.
This is "lead free", which I never previously knew even existed in .22lr. If that means different priming compound, I could see how that could make it more expensive. Doesn't mean I'd pay it though...
Resale is a big thing... I've hit some cash crunches since I've built my 2 AR's, but I haven't even tried to sell them because they're mixmasters and I don't want to take a huge loss on them. Plus the fact that you don't really know the quality of some smaller manufacturer's parts, or if...
Here's another thread showing the design change, so make sure you look for the latest revision when you're shopping... not that these things are aging on the shelf anywhere.

IIRC Diamondback's pocket 9's had huge issues with peening and other durability problems, although the .380's are rumored to be better. I'm interested in hearing long-term durability reports about these, but I definitely wouldn't be an early adopter.
I'm a big guy myself, and I'm very happy with my Boonie Packer 2P sling. Plenty of adjustment, and a nice quick release for when you need to loosen it in a rush.

I carry a Kahr CM9 in a Crossbreed Micro-Clip. It positively disappears under a tucked-in dress shirt, and the single clip is still beefy enough to hold it in place. Best of all is the fact that I got it off of Crossbreed's seconds website for under $30 shipped. I strongly recommend keeping...
I've done the above procedure on a rifle, and it works. Just curious, were you using Hornady "Steel Match" steel cased ammo? The only time I had this problem was firing steel-cased ammo after a long shooting session, and I think the coating melted in the chamber and stuck.
Awesome! Glad to see you're getting good results with it. I've seen the SAR B6P in CDNN email specials recently for (IIRC) $239, and they were pretty tempting. I may jump on one of those if it will in fact use CZ75 mags... even though I already have more full-size 9mm's than I know what to do...
You're lucky... I haven't succeeded in getting my wife to fire anything larger than .32 ACP. When I'm away on business, she'll ask for a refresher on how to open the bedside safe, but she's turned down offers for range trips and training classes repeatedly. I wish I knew how to warm her up to...
Aside from the small frame (.22, .25, .32) derringers from Cobra / Davis, most of the other offerings are big enough that it makes more sense to go with a pocket .380. Even then, when you factor in the nasty trigger pull and the reputation of barrels not being lined up, an NAA mini revolver...
Hmm... I just took a job that has me visiting some clients in Winamac, so I might have to get some shooting time while I'm out there! Do I need to bring cardboard target backers, or just a stapler and targets?
I've heard for years of ATF going into gun shops with portable copiers and just copying all of the 4473s they could lay their hands on... why would they bother trying to actually take them and causing this big of a stink?
I recently took a job that requires me to be in a dress shirt and slacks visiting customers, and didn't really have a holster that was suitable for that. I discovered the Sof-Tuk (in my case, for a J-frame), and it definitely works!
I was worried that with one J-hook, as opposed to 2 hooks or...
I've heard it said that combining the NY1 trigger spring with the 3.5# connector will result in a very clean and crisp 5-6# trigger pull, but I haven't tried it.
