The Kelsay farms in Whiteland are having their farm experience during the month of October. This is a fun time for kids with lots of activities for the family. Interesting for grownups as well. Here is a link to view times, location, etc.
Welcome to Kelsay Farms!
We had a guy come to our door earlier this year to peddle his crap. My wife got rid of him real quick. A couple of weeks later on the evening news there was his face, accused of molesting a girl somewhere in Johnson county. I put up a NO SOLICITING sign on my door but a few braver characters...
Feed line side of switch with black wire (hot), come off load side (switchleg) with wire, pigtail with wire nuts at each light. Neutral doesn't touch switch, pigtail at fixtures. Pretty dangerous the way it is wired right now.
Kill at 7:30 AM, field dress immediately, skin, cut, grind, eat for lunch at noon. I have tried hanging, don't taste any difference. Biggest taste difference is completely deboning and trimming all fat and silver membrane.
Well I have to say I hope the private company running loses their butt and it goes back to the public who paid for it. In this release is the original prices, $1 per hour. The Outdoor Wire: Atterbury FWA Shooting Range to open May 30
The killzone is 8"-10" diameter on a good broadside or slightly quartering away shot. I honestly practice very little, maybe a 2 months before bow season every year. As the season nears I will shoot one arrow a day at varying angles and distances at my 3D target. This helps me be confident...
Here is a good list of local buyers Hoosier Hunting: IN furbuyers list. Also, Hoosier Trapper Supply,Hoosier Trapper Supply > Home, in Greenwood is a NAFA agent if you want to ship them to Canada. They also do great taxidermy work and are great people to deal with.
These workshops are great. My brothers and I started processing our deer several years ago and we learned a ton of stuff from these guys. Highly recommended if you don't want to pay $80-$100 to have your deer cut up.
I ship my fur to NAFA. Last year coon Avg. $4.72 , high $8.50. Beaver-$18.25 avg. Muskrat-$2.83 avg. Market was looking like coon were going over $20 then fell flat on its face.
I'm on the fence using the SST in my muzzleloader this year. I've killed half a dozen deer with them but less than impressed with their expansion. Entrance and exit holes are usually identical unless bone contact is made. On the other hand, accuracy has been very good out to 200+ yds.
